minä perhonen is a fashion brand and we performed the interior design for their new directly-managed shop minä perhonen koti. The shop mainly showcasing household goods is found on the 1st floor of the Shonan T-SITE complex, where many tenants are located around a Tsutaya book store. The name of the store “koti”, meaning house in Finnish, derives from the fact that it handles everyday life items, such as cushions and tableware. Thus, deliverables included a space to carefully present small objects and showcase product line-ups with color variations.
The project implements a replicable model in each of its points: the architecture, the economic logic, the energy criteria, integrated farming practices and reforestation. It offers a rural area a number of tools that propose ways of inhabiting these sensitive forest areas with production needs, and develop an equivalent degree of integration on a social level.

The side that we have taken in the urban implantation as well as in the architectural expression consists in an large quadrangle around an atrium-patio. The ambivalent need to create a program preserving the confidentiality of the companies and in the same time providing a good façade isolation leads to a sort of a « fortified » architecture which is being quite the opposite of the desired convivial working space.
The design of the recently completed residence Pfarrmessner presents itself to the observer in a uniform and almost solid manner. The building is situated at the southern outskirts of the city of Sterzing/Vipiteno, at approximately 950 meter above sea level. It is also the southernmost city of South Tyrol, an autonomic province of Italy. The residence, which is generally orientated east and westwards, is separated into four storeys, whilst each one of the four apartments develops differently through and on these floors. These very individual arrangements of floor layouts, as well as the patchy positioning of openings and loggias find their common ground in the coherent exterior. Projected as a building of solid construction, it features a concrete bearing structure with an insulated plaster facade. Its monolithic and robust appearance is referring to some regional predominant porphyry stone, which is typically characterised by its reddish-brown colouration. The prefiguration of this very stone was implemented to the facade by the use a high pigmented moulding plaster, marked above all by its organic fine-grain amount.

Located on a narrow street of Alcântara district, the existing building didn’t possess any particular quality. Apart from a rigorous and well balanced façade – which brings character to the surrounding urban fabric- all of its interior was in imminent collapse. The maximum volume allowed by local legislation was built within a plot of 7 meters wide by 22 meters long.
