Pfarré lighting design studio in Munich, Germany

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015

Article source: Pfarré lighting design studio

Project

The former store for antique luminaires im Munich‘s Alt-Schwabing district provided an ideal L-shaped ground plan for the workplaces and other areas of the new studio. All main technical features, such as print/copy, large-format printer, coffee, server, etc. are hidden behind a new space divider, which also houses the product library, and consumable supplies. With this divider, a generous space between divider and the shop windows has been created for meetings and presentations. Thanks to the digitalization of the working process and archives, the size of the studio remained the same as before. However, 5 desks have been reduced in size. A 8 m long shelve unit provides space to work and store, below a pinboard with the same length. At the former studio site out of town PLD is still equipped with a lavish archive and further space for testing, mock-ups, and models.

The « Roc »

“The grotto formed a huge hall. Over its granite floor gently flowed the faithful stream. At such a distance from its source, its water was only the same temperature as the air, and we could drink it without difficulty.

House L911 in Lisbon, Portugal by Estúdio AMATAM

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015

Article source: Estúdio AMATAM

Design a family house without knowing to whom it´s meant to be, it’s like drawing a portrait without having a model… in the end we might design for ourselves. Having in mind the portuguese real estate market current situation, aiming for the design of signature houses is unrealistic for most offices, so we are left to intervene in the neo-liberal real estate market in the best way we can, according with the game rules.

The terrace of La Brasera restaurant in Olot, Spain by arnau estudi d’arquitectura

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015

Article source: Arnau estudi d’arquitectura

This low-cost projectof anuncertain time frame and lots of good will starts as a pretext to redesign for the new use an empty commercial property, situated next to a restaurant of the same owner. The commission set out for us is to adapt a part of this property to be used as a terrace of the restaurant. The condition is that neither the pavement, nor the false ceiling (installed some months before) can be removed, in order not to compromise the unforeseeable future of the property.

PULKABACKEN (the sled hill) in VÄRMDÖ, SWEDEN by Street Monkey Architects

Sunday, June 21st, 2015

Article source:Street Monkey Architects

Constructed with prefabricated steel and concrete modules this 200m2 home is built on asteeply sloping site in an island suburb of Stockholm. Because of the sloping site and the close proximity of the neighbors we chose to camouflage this rather large volume under a sledding ramp and a roof terrace, making it extremely discreet from the road.
