Archaeologies of Green, the pavilion of the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the Expo Milano 2015 is a poetic interpretation of the cultural agrarian heritage of the country, which stems from the ancient civilization of Dilmun.
The project development has combined various goals, such as maintaining the pre-existing building through the introduction of a complex functional program within a given volume.
In today’s day and age, most of the architecture that surrounds us becomes a kind of background hum, to be noticed only when it is exceptionally striking. When our eyes move around in our surroundings, do we notice the box-shaped edifices that existed in the past or that one building that irks our imagination? The answer is clear and undeniable. A structure that speaks volumes through its design, the Skyone Tower reinforces the term “standing out in a crowd.” An inception of the Creative Group, the curious architects wanted to innovate a building that not only sustains the ability to influence the emotions of the human mind but also encapsulates functionality.
“House to be floating in the rural landscape” It is a house built along the main road in a rural city.
(This house also includes gallery and studio.) In order to protect the residents from the surrounding any kind of noise, House has been surrounded by a gradual circular wall. When enter the inside of the wall, there is a serene space. The first floor is composed by three concrete volumes. Garage and gallery (for embroidery artist), and study.
Our proposal strategically intensifies and reimagines the Guggenheim Museum producing an iconic cultural landmark by sculpting natural light through physical and conceptual layers. These strata develop a rich, dynamic and varied experience synergistically contextualizing the museum at multiple scales to the material and cultural fabric of Helsinki and Finland. The design supplants the object/icon building (visually distinct, discrete parts) with a new subtle icon, embedded in Finnish culture (emotional, connected) and redefines Helsinki as an urbanized landscape; an extension of the museum.
The project consisted in the refurbishment of the Portocobo hotel located in the town of Santa Cruz de Oleiros (A Coruña). The existing building had an open plan layout sharing the site with two surface parking lots, a large terrace that could be covered, green areas and an outdoor pool with a sun deck. The back of the site had views of the sea. The interior remodel was aimed at better accommodating the existing functions as well as some new ones. The most important objective was to achieve full transparency on the ground floor, since in its original state the reception area blocked views of the sea. To this end, the ground floor was redesigned allowing the enjoyment of the views from the moment one enters the building. The remodel served to organize the interior layout: The rooms were reconfigured and adapted to new regulations. New areas dedicated to businesses such as private dinning rooms, classrooms and meet- ing rooms were created. The restaurant and bar were improved and the kitchen, storage areas and freezer were upgraded. Also, a removable canopy was designed to create a new banquet area for 500 guests. Finally, a spa specializing in thalassotherapy was located on the basement. It includes salt-water pools and spas, massage rooms, saunas, steam rooms and specialized massage rooms.
