The assignment was to envision a house for a temporary family retreat for an owner of a cosmetics company, that would use the site to farm and cultivate olives for the needs of the company. The architect encountered the problems that come with a site without infrastructure while at the same time satisfying the needs of the user – temporary habitation and olive farming care.

Article source: Selim Senin

The part of plot which virtually has no tree has been selected for deployment of the museum. In order not to prevent the existence of ODF monument, the building was finished behind the monument. The main entrance is provided via FriedrichstraBe. After entering the museum, temporary exhibition hall is reached which has been designed to take place in parallel manner to KavalierstraBe. At the end of temporary exhibition, workshop space and main exhibition hall starts. Workshop space is open to use via external access from the side of ODF monument as well. Temporary exhibition hall and workshop space are completely enabled to integrate with each other thanks to operable glass division panels.

Article source: Estudio Barozzi Veiga

The Philarmonic Hall, which is to accommodate a concert hall and a chamber music hall , is a very complex building that occupies the same space as the former music building. This is a synthetic project that shares identifying traits with its surrounding context. Mass, versatility and the shape of the roof-lines are dominant, connecting the hall with the rest of the city.

Atrium House in Gotland, Sweden by Tham and Videgård Arkitekter

Sunday, June 14th, 2015

Article source: Tham and Videgård Arkitekter

Atrium House is a vacation home for a family of three generations on the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea. It is built on a slight ridge that marks the former location of the coastline a thousand years ago. In relation to the open and expansive landscape, the building seems more like a low wall than a house. It is built around a completely enclosed atrium courtyard that is designed to serve as a fixed point, a sheltered outdoor room. The rest of the property is left undisturbed as a meadow where grazing sheep prevent the land from returning to forest.
