Summer house renovation in Gabicce Monte, Italy by Bartoletti Cicognani architettura e design

Tuesday, July 21st, 2015

Article source: Bartoletti Cicognani architettura e design

The original building was a two levels residual part of a complex, built inside a rock wall in the late 70s within the area of the Monte San Bartolo Regional Park. The original digging was realized to create some concrete structures for the consolidation of the higher levels. The spaces inside had never been used, and the rooms were unhealthy and unsafe. Our goal was to restore the building and create a small vacation house with an amazing view of the surroundings.

Nishi-ku, Osaka-shi  A private house of the solitary life built near the Kyocera dome.

Board sticking 1 year passes after completion, and which is an outer wall and board sticking of interior plywood, it’s when it’s being matched.

When I’d like to make a fascinating house because I build hard, you speak and housing has started.

Casual House by Christopher Megowan Design

Tuesday, July 21st, 2015

Article source: Christopher Megowan Design

A home as casual and easy going as its residents. Low maintenance, no frills materials were used to create a cost effective yet compelling extension to the rear of a family home in Newport. The middle of the home had long suffered from substandard foundations, this extension replaced this middle section with a new kitchen, living, dining, bathroom and laundry. In addition, existing spaces were extended and converted into a second living area, and two new bedrooms. The brief was to create something low key, beachy, contemporary but still respect the character and materiality of the weatherboard cottage at the front of the property. Room to kick a ball, connection to the outdoors and ease of moving surfboards and sporting equipment from the rear of the house to the car in the front was top of mind for these clients.

ADULT EDUCATION CENTRE AND CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND BUILDING in Torrelavega, Spain by 1004arquitectos

Tuesday, July 21st, 2015

Article source: 1004arquitectos

The building responds to the social demand of the city of Torrelavega of an independent space to accommodate adult school Caligrama, which until now lacked its own headquarters. Located in a deteriorated urban area, the new centre intends to be a connection with the rest of the city, serving as an integration element. A new iconic building that embodies a claim of the city is created as a reference for the future of the region.

Torre del Baró refurbishment in Barcelona, Spain by Jordi Farrando architect

Tuesday, July 21st, 2015

Article source: Jordi Farrando architect

A castle which is not a castle.

The Torre del Baró was built around 1904. It is located in one of the crest lines of the Collserola hills and, despite its residential origin, seems to be a fortification of historicist style. It is visible from much of the northeastern sector of Barcelona and has views over the city and the interior valleys of the metropolitan area.

Brooklyn Desks in New York City by STUDIOSC

Tuesday, July 21st, 2015

Article source: STUDIOSC

Within an empty 10,000 Sq. Foot Ground floor space, STUDIOSC was commissioned to envision a creative co-working office in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The concept was to create a refined working environment using materials that would normally be considered trash. The old exterior factory windows that were replaced, were re-purposed to create dividing walls and become interior light sources in the main open desk & conference room area.  Working with Roguebuilt, we were able to amass off-cuts of OSB boards that would typically be thrown out or recycled,  cut and dyed them on site and created most of the of the delineating elements within the space; entry ceiling, kitchen dividing beam, back wall mosaic wall, kitchen wall accents, and reception desk.

Retrospect Vineyards house in Windsor, California by Swatt Miers Architects

Tuesday, July 21st, 2015

Article source: Swatt Miers Architects

Retrospect Vineyards, a 20-acre plot in the Russian River Valley, has been producing pinot noir grapes and selling them to nearby wineries for fifteen years. However, when the new owners bought the property in 2010 they knew they wanted to have a greater involvement in the winemaking process. The result was a modern home designed to function as both a family retreat and a working vineyard, respecting the privacy of the residents without hampering the functionality of the land.
