Article source: Fletcher Priest

Reconstructing this 1980s building resolves the relationship with Finsbury Circus to the south and Eldon Street to the north, which became critical when Broadgate turned Eldon Street from a minor backwater into a busy pedestrian route.

LAS TORRES MULTIFAMILY BUILDING in Caracas, Venezuela by NMD NOMADAS

Sunday, August 16th, 2015

Article source: NMD NOMADAS

The building is defined as a series of pleats in direct dialogue with strong topographical conditions. The tower lies on the hillside. From the natural conformation of the relief, the architectural gesture generates a transversal line to the ridge, becoming a viaduct that connects the upper and the lower part of the existing site, as it rises above the new main road design and an existing secondary road.

Jaffa Garden Apartment in Israel by Itai Palti

Sunday, August 16th, 2015

Article source: Itai Palti

The space began as mish-mash of small rooms and corridors – the result of years of informal additions and alterations to the building. Located in Jaffa, an old neighbourhood within Tel Aviv, the apartment was originally created by joining two neighbouring rooms separated by a narrow passage. Palti’s first priority was to check and strengthen the structure, and from there reorganise the spaces.

AMBIENT LIGHT in Chicago, Illinois by Guillaume Mazars Architecture

Sunday, August 16th, 2015

Article source: Guillaume Mazars Architecture

Project for a kiosk on the lakefront of Chicago.  Waterfronts are special places. A meeting point between earth and sea, the horizon is exposed. More than elsewhere the sky is present, it illuminates and color permeates the place. The project aims to exacerbate this feeling by framing the views and accentuating the light of the moment.

North End Free Library and Public Bench Designed by TCA Architects Opens in Hamilton  (Hamilton, Ontario) – July 24, 2015 – The North End Free Library is open and lending books in Hamilton. This tactical urbanism intervention is a ‘take a book, leave a book’ gathering place – a civic gesture and public amenity that blurs the lines between public and private. It is about creating community and celebrating literacy in Hamilton’s waterfront North End neighbourhood.
