Nevsehir Bus Terminal in Turkey by Bahadır Kul Architects

Thursday, September 3rd, 2015

Article source: Bahadır Kul Architects

The intercity bus terminal was designed on the way to Aksaray, 5km away from the city center , due to the existing  bus terminal’s incompatibility to  handle the needs. The convenience of the linkage to the local road of Nigde and to the city center were the reasons why this area is preferred.

Zeytouneh Square in Beirut, Lebanon by Gustafson Porter

Thursday, September 3rd, 2015

Article source: Gustafson Porter

Situated at the southern end of Shoreline Walk, Zeytouneh Square is one of a series of connected public spaces created as part of Beirut’s re-emergence from the 1975‒1990 Civil War. Research into each space revealed remnants of the character of the pre-war city that had been forgotten or destroyed. These remnants provided the inspiration for the four diverse spaces, each of which reveals elements of memory from the past.

Thursday, September 3rd, 2015

Article source: Topos Atelier de Arquitectura, Lda

The building is located in an area of difficult geological, topographical and accessibility conditions. The choice of this location, near the city park, the outdoor swimming pools, the sports hall and schools, aims to create a center of educational activities capable of producing a momentum for the consolidation and upgrading of the urban environment of this part of the city. For the viability of the land, it was necessary to design a new route that by continuing the existing fabric, will fix part of the urban expansion around the existing core.

Cirkelbroen celebrates pedestrians. It reflects the daily life and intimacy that you find around the canal in the Christianshavn neighbourhood, its houseboats and sailing boats, the unique life on the ramparts. Copenhagen’s harbour was once a centre of maritime activity, and Cirkelbroen is a testimony to that history.
