The Folding Landscape Pavilion by Jantzen studio

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015

Article source: Jantzen studio

The Folding Landscape Pavilion is an interactive merging of architect and photography. It consists of ten prefabricated photo laminated panels that can be folded out from a simple prefabricated rectangular steel support frame into many different combinations. Each of the panels is hinged to the support frame; they are also divided in half diagonally, and hinged back together, so that the original rectangular space can be altered in completely unexpected ways.

Article source: PSA Arquitetura

This residential project inserted in the neighbourhood of Itaim Bibi, south of São Paulo, explored its best qualities to provide a respectful relationship with the surroundings. The basement proportion is designed as a volume that dialogues with the street scale. The distance between the building and the street allows a better landscape perception, including the open front garden that welcomes inhabitants and visitors.

Les Jumelles in Lac Brome, Canada by Atelier Pierre Thibault

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015

Article source: Atelier Pierre Thibault

This project was intended for a flat, sparsely wooded site. Completely in stone, the original house dated from the early 19th century. Its proportions were balanced but the extension made in the mid-20th century was a bit chaotic.

Office interior for transportation firm in Beijing, China by CAA

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015

Article source: CAA

August 1, 2015 – If you ever been in an office tower you’ve probably seen the grueling reality of people doing their jobs in poorly lit rooms. It makes for great satire, but more than that, it’s an attempt to allow people focus on their work at hand. It works, but not terribly effectively. CAA believes it found a better way –despite the conventional layout- to give people a place to produce in healthier place using details that endorse simplicity by design.

Czech Pavilion at EXPO 2015 in Milan, Italy by CHYBIK+KRISTOF ARCHITECTS & URBAN DESIGNERS

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015

Article source:  CHYBIK+KRISTOF ARCHITECTS & URBAN DESIGNERS

Through the end of October, the Czech Republic, along with over 150 other counties of the world, is participating in the Expo 2015 in the northern Italian metropolis of Milan. Expo, far beyond being a venue to showcase progress and the latest discoveries in science and technology, also aims to contribute to solving current global problems and to strengthen international cooperation. The motto of the Milan Expo is: “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, referring to the need for balanced securing of quality sources of food and potable water for everyone on the planet. The Czech Republic chose water as the central theme of its exposition, since in the European Water Charter of 1968 it is stated that “water is indispensable to all forms of life” and its preservation “is the joint responsibility of states and all users”.

Article source: MIRKO FRANZOSO ARCHITETTO

Living deep in nature, in complete harmony with the elements of the area and respecting the environment where we spend our time for meditation are the fundamental principles that brought to the realization of this house among trees. The rooms forming this house among trees are first of all places where to refuge yourself from nature, but at the same time where to rest and enjoy it fully.

SRK in Meguro, Tokyo by ARTechnic architects

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015

Article source: ARTechnic architects

By expanding and adjusting the existing land condition and nature within, I have attempted to create a space which provides dwelling as like a part of the nature.

The shape has been finalized rationally and organically in the forming process of dealing with the site condition and requested function. Not only the result of the form being organic, by paying attention to the organic matter of the planning process, the process itself perhaps produced the organic space.
