 Image Courtesy © Oskar Da Riz The building, conceived as a continuation of the scree, which is caused by periodic mudflows from the mountain slope behind the construction area, was partially integrated into the retaining dam and penetrates the same out again just to optically continue the movement of the scree downstream. The use of local stones and gabion-walls for the covering of the facade strengthens the identity between the construction site and the building and merges the modern design of the fire station with its natural surroundings.
