While developing this building two parameters had to be considered. The slanting of the sloped site with its exposed position on the one side, on the other side the organization of the entire living area on only one floor.

Due to its sensitive placement the building body presents itself as pleasant and unobtrusive despite the large footprint. The volume adapts harmoniously and unassumingly to the terrain and the surrounding.

The living quarter is organized in a simple and clear L shape around a courtyard. The building is divided into two main areas.

The living and dining area is expressed extrovertly and opens up generously towards the terrace and pool area as well as to the view overlooking the city. The bedrooms are of intimate character with few, precisely placed windows. Furthermore the living areas distinguish themselves from the sleeping area by higher ceilings.

A grand entrance area with wardrobe serves as a distributor. Via a couple of stairs one reaches the open kitchen and dining area as well as the living space with an incredible view over the city. An open fireplace is partitioning the space. All living areas of the ground floor have direct access to the vast terrace and pool. On the partially covered terrace one can experience the course of the sun in summer as well as winter months. The height differences of the floor around the pool are inviting to linger and enjoy. All secondary rooms including a hobby room are located on the lower level.

The house is built using the most up to date wood construction technology. All outer and inner walls as well as the roof are made of pre fabricated massive wood panels. The surfaces of the panels are spruce in quality for visible areas and do not need further treatment.

The façade of the low rise building is characterized by the homogeneous spruce screen and the few but large window openings. The materiality of the interior space is predominately untreated, natural spruce. An interplay of oak, spruce and white painted surfaces is followed through consequently in the sleeping area.
