Much-loved children’s author Roald Dahl was the inspiration for a new dining hall and after school facility in Buckinghamshire’s Prestwood Infant School. The author – who lived locally – had already apparently based the headteacher Miss Trunchbull in his popular book Matilda on a former real-life headteacher at the school.

Q10 House in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam by Studio8 Architecture & Urban Design

The house is located in a dense residential alley at the heart area of District 10, Ho Chi Minh City (in Vietnamese is “Quận 10″ that’s why the house named Q10). Like many other typical row houses in Vietnam, Q10 House faced a challenge of creating something different but feasible with very limited budget, other saying is to balance between creativity and efficiency, and more importantly, works well with living style of the owners.

Looking to connect its future to the past, Vail Systems, a communications software developer, found a perfect home in the former Chicago Daily News pressroom. The once industrial space has been transformed into a collaborative environment that inspires innovation. Unique structural elements organize functional requirements. Staff is located in large reconfigurable areas, while meeting spaces are organized under mezzanines and catwalks.

San Luis Obispo CA Regional Airport ARFF Station 21 in California by LEA-Architects, LLC

San Luis Obispo Regional (SLO) Airport ARFF Station No. 21 encompasses the replacement of the old airport Fire Station that fell victim to seismic challenges, and airport expansion.  From the inception of the project, the Architect, LEA Architects, LLC led by Larry Enyart, FAIA, LEED Fellow and Lance Enyart, AIA, LEED AP established project design goals of; minimizing emergency service response time, improving the quality of life for the Fire Department personnel located at the Airport, and setting a progressive new “airfoil” design theme for other airport structures to follow.
