Article source: KM 429 architecture

8 House is located in the countryside of Sant’agostino next to a developing production area; it is closed between a large dimensions factory located to the east side and the expectation of urban development in the south side.

It will be built on the ruins of an existing house, strongly affected by the earthquake of May 2012.

Lahofer Winery in Dobsice, Czech Republic by Chybik + Kristof Architects & Urban Designers

Tuesday, February 9th, 2016

Article source: Chybik + Kristof Architects & Urban Designers

The winery is composed into the scenic South Moravian countryside scattered with vineyards. The structural scheme is based on the width of the row of grapevines and runs through the whole house. In the representative wine tasting room, the vineyard and an archetypal arched room, referring to the wine cellars in that region, intersect orthogonally. Wine making is concentrated in two horizontal buildings, the winery thus gives the impression of being lightweight in relation to the countryside.

This project is for a family of five in the middle of a small mountain where is able to overlook Mt. Sakurajima beyond the Kagoshima bay. The scenery of Kagoshima bay could say just amazing. It would be great if we could design architecture that connects the beautiful scenery and us instead of divides this relationship by itself.

Article source: B29 architects

In the heart of Geneva, in the old city, a humble apartment gets transformed in an interesting example of how much beauty can fit in a small house.  The main concept was to insert architectural elements and functional objects in the existing situation, that, put in strategical positions, were able to redefine the margins and transform the spatiality whithout substantially changing the form.

Summer house Midlaren in Drenthe, Netherlands by Kwint architects

Tuesday, February 9th, 2016

Article source: Kwint architects

We were asked to design a simple summer home. The result is a straight forward house, of rich and spatial design in map and cross section. Internally, it seems entirely to consist of two separate houses, similar to a bronze sculpture of Giacometti entitled: Figure in a Box between Two Boxes which are Houses.
