Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016

Article source: Gianluca Milesi architecture

The project is a proposal for a new branch of NCCA Museum in Moscow.

The project proposes a flexible matrix of the linear block, a strategy derived from the great modern Russian architecture. Every single block opens the buildings to the world axes and it is modular with different dimensions and openings according to the program, solar exposition, energy consumption, and sustainability. At the centre of the triangular site, the main bar is an atrium space, which connects the existing buildings, the NCCA with the future development of the area.

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016

Article source: Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter

The Romsdal Folk Museum is an architectonic attraction and a treasured landmark that embodies the history and identity of the entire region. Our intention in this project was to let the structure signal its meaning and function through an architectural expression and the use of local materials. The scale of the building refers to the urbanity and morphology of the town. The overall layout of the museum grounds the connections to the town by linking different surrounding areas in an overall plan where all circulation is linked in a unified structure. The project conveys an open and progressive attitude that makes diverse utilization possible.

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016

Article source: H ARQUITECTES

Strategies

The school is located in the urban city center of Sabadell, in a corner shaped by two buildings aligned to the street. Both volumes create a wide courtyard with a sports center located in the basement.

The proposal involves only the oldest building (1959) which hosts the pre-school classrooms and few outdoor spaces.

The essential strategy consists on taking advantage of the huge potential of the original building, both the constructed surfaces as well as the useful spaces.

When you walk into the Neumatt sports center, the first thing you notice is its energy and vibrancy. It comes not just from the children playing basketball in a space that’s flooded by natural light, but also from the bright green floor and walls, which lead to large windows that reflect the blue of the sky and the colorful doors of the change rooms, painted in rainbow-like shades of yellow, red, orange and blue.
