Cabin Straumsnes in Tingvoll, Norway by Rever & Drage Architects

Saturday, May 28th, 2016

Article source: Rever & Drage Architects

Paradoxically the new main cabin at Årsund was built after the annex. This due to the fact that the original cabin, with exception of the annex, was removed to make way for the new-build. Moreover, the annex was drawn by another architect office and completed a few years ago. We therefore had to design a new whole, which included the annex and yet at the same time created a new building which in itself would provide a satisfactory solution both for site and program.

House CM in Oedelem, Belgium by Bultynck Kindt archtitecten

Saturday, May 28th, 2016

Article source: Bultynck Kindt archtitecten

The property is located on the edge of the center of Oedelem. The spot is marked by far-views over the Flemish polders. Given the location of the plot and the purpose achieved an optimal living experience was the greatest possible contact between the house and its surroundings. The openness of the polders was extended in the plan of the house. To achieve this was left of a central volume, around which the house is organized. The volume contains all the technical and practical features such as storage, kitchen, toilet and stairs. The ground floor was as follows: the kitchen was facing east, the dining area and the lounge were implanted respectively in the south and west and the entrance is on the north side. On the floor, the bathroom is the central point around which organized the bedroom. As a result, the life follows the position of the sun throughout the day, the people experiencing the daylight time and again in a different way. The design of the volume ensures that the kitchen, dining and living room arenot one room but a succession of sequences.

Article source: Langarita Navarro

Moving their home to the outer limits of a small town in the province of Zaragoza is the wish of a newly married couple about to retire. Embodied in their decision lies the conviction that it is possible to both undergo a radical change and still enjoy the comforts of their previous life. To explore this dual situation a project has been designed which attempts to evade its usual position as a solution at the end of a process and to take positions as starting point or state previous to the development.
