The Museum of Energy is located at the surroundings of Ascó, next to the river Ebro. The museum swings between public and private, between the river and the topography and between the urban grid and landscape. Because of this, one of the aims of the project was to reconfigure the site understanding its BOUNDARY condition.

The Museum of Energy weaves together social and physical realities. It generates a new space in a currently undetermined place and links urban to landscape. The interlacing of different realities is dealt by three stages of a promenade. At a first stage, the visitors are RECEIVED, at a second stage, the exhibition content is SHOWN and finally, the views toward the landscape are FRAMED: to RECEIVE, to FRAME and IN-BETWEEN, the content is SHOWN.

A regular grid modulates and organizes the interior spaces. Once the grid and site are overlapped some accidents or distortions happen. Then the museum anchors to the site and establishes close relations to its forerunners.

The constructive system is solved with two main details. The regular perimeter made of steel and the curves of polycarbonate. Both are dry systems, produced at the workshops and brought and just fixed on site.
