Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects complete exhibition pavilion on the banks of the HuangPu River in Shanghai.
As part of the regeneration and development of the West Bund area in Shanghai, Danish architects Schmidt Hammer Lassen have completed a permanent exhibition and art pavilion on the riverside promenade.
As a luxurious mansion built for 21st Century living, Mandarin Court (Jiu Jang Tang) villas have inherited the spirit of traditional Chinese courtyard residences, which is most vividly expressed in their spatial articulation, interplay of light and spaces, and the subtlety in material usage. Yet, despite the strong cultural resonance, the design of the villas has rejected outright on any revivalist gesture or pastiche symbolism. Instead, an uncompromisingly modern and unpompous approach has been taken to honestly reflect the times where the buildings belong.
Lucia’s earth is located in the old downtown of Gong-Ju city. (Gong-Ju is one of the oldest historical city in Korea.) The house was originally built in 1964.: the first house was mainly built on the soil of unmade yard, and has two small rooms , a tiny kitchen, and a narrow attic.
However, when it comes to the story how the first house of Lucia’s earth was built it gave us different look of the ruined old house.
The project is an extension to the country house in the village of New Landmarks Moscow . The function of this extension is best described by the English word Banqueting house. In the open dining area is a large dining table and a concrete kitchen for glazing – fireplace with seating area. The entire ceiling is a large lamp – for river structure hidden LED strip light that reflect light, this solution allows you to visually create a sense of soaring ceiling. On the roof of the dispensation of the green roof with a garden. As well as the consultation, together with the customers was invented the concept of improvement . In a complex environment and landscape construction has to rest and relaxation.
The Radisson Blu Hotel Marrakech has just officially opened its doors. Xavier Guerrand Hermes and the investment fund Actif Invest invited Atelier Pod to design the accommodation of their new Marrakech property operated by the Carlson Rezidor hotel chain.
The main design challenge was to create a contemporary and innovative aesthetic recalling the essence of the red city. The hotel is located in Gueliz, and is part of a mixed-use property including apartments and a shopping center called “Carre Eden”.
With the Centre d’Art Diane Dufresne, ACDF Architecture has created a new arts centre for the suburban municipality of Repentigny, providing a dynamic core where residents can take in stirring arts and culture without getting on the highway to nearby Montreal. The centre’s architecture, including its siting, massing, circulation and materiality, are instrumental in reinventing the desired community image. It plays with notions of rootedness while gesturing to a vibrant future, instilling a sense of belonging and optimism. Familiar yet distinct, it invites visitors in and encourages long, lingering stays.
There is the vacant house which has formed local community. “House of Komajii” in Komagome of Tokyo opened as a place where local people stay in October, 2013. Because originally this vacant house was a dormitory, the space was divided finely. Therefore about half of the building was a storeroom. When I received the request of the design, The client expected that I released the space of the storeroom in the area, and made the structure for “House of Komajii” to become independent, and rotate. (It is run now without almost taking the fee for use by the kindness of the owner.) I plan to break a wall and enlarge the space, and more people can gather in the first floor and convert the second floor to share office as source of profits.
The architectural interiors project for the penthouse sp_penthouse sought to attend to the demands of the program with the minimal division of space possible, shaping spatial continuity and amplitude for the apartment. Infinite circulations accentuate the fluidity between the spaces and configure functional pathways – of a clear understanding to the residents and their guests. Large corridors are also used here as galleries for the clients’ art collection and objects as well as pleasant architectural spaces, and not solely hallways.
The Manna House is for a client who has unusual obsession with color. My initial concept was to use a camouflage palette to blend the house into the hillside. My client wanted the anti-camouflage house. The house takes its inspiration from the abstract color field paintings of Kenneth Noland and Josef Albers. Various shades of blue connect the house -sited on the ridge of a hill- to the the sky that serve as its backdrop. Blue is also a reference to how the house “sails” along the top of the hill like a ship.
