The road to knowledge and enlightenment is tough, meandering and full of obstacles. The aim of the project is to create a metaphor of this process, with its zigzag floor plans, as well as the inclined roof, resembling the difficulties one embraces while walking this road.

Close to the St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, the popular Austrian bar and restaurant chain Wein & Co has opened a new branch. The reason for completely renovating the already existing catering area of a Gründerzeit building was the possibility to extend the company to three levels and to modernize them. On an area of 800 square metres, BEHF architecturally implemented the motto “WINING DINING SHOPPING” by creating a spacious suite of rooms as well as a distinctive ambience.

Ideal Space in Shenyang, China by Robot 3 Studio

January 16th, 2018 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Robot 3 Studio

The location of the project is in Plaza 66, Zhongjie Street, Shenyang. Two walls were built in the house in the street, a wall divides inside and outside, a wall divides the left and right direction. The “Wall” is in our hearts all the time, giving us shelter, imprisonment and hope. The two walls create a dream, the wall are transparent, and the long wall are stretched. The space between the walls is determined and blurred, but visible to each other. It is possible and hope, not imprisoned and closed. The long wall that stretches outside to the house is a guidance and the wall can be living, not just a divider or reference.

The project is a reflection on memory: the pass of time and the evolution of architecture…

The proposal is a way to intervention in a 19th century building … the traces of the past are engraved in the new buildings, like a memory of ancient geometries … It is an unfinished architecture that the time will end up composing in the place …

YOU+International Youth Community in Shenzhen, China by office project

Under the trend of “no real estate speculation”, the urban leasing industry has ushered in a period of great transformation. From renting a room to a good house to a desired lifestyle, people’s understanding of life in the city will gradually rise to a new more valued one. As to the proposition that urban culture will become the lifestyle itself, we try to explore the future through a series of research-based residential design practices. Through the “Piston Room”, we discussed the time utilization of the Beijing ant tribe’s apartment space. Through the “Capsule Home”, we’ve thought about the possibility of new space in the city’s extreme collection capsules. In 2016, we had a chance to systematically explore the “living organism” of a complete city, which gave birth to the ” Home on the Roof ” of Shenzhen Yuanzheng industrial park.

Design has become and will be more and more the keyword of our world and our next worlds. The word will be the carrier of the thinking processes towards new societies. It is about the phase before production. It is about the thinking before the making. Design products change our world and so do the machines that produce new products. A society led by design is under endless construction and in an expanding smartening universe, there is an emergence of a new world of digitized making.

A Long And Narrow Apartment in Tel Aviv, Israel by XS Studio

A long and narrow apartment in a preservation listed building on Tel-Aviv’s Rothschild Boulevard. Open-minded and daring customers gave a fascinating challenge for a 93m² apartment: a room for each of the three children and for the parents, 2 bathrooms and a spacious living area. The starting point was unusual: the children’s rooms were designed to be minimal, functional and simple thus providing a wider living space in the public areas.

The new house is solved around courtyards which themselves contain an activity that represents the tension and the relationship between the functions of the volumes that surround it. Another key intention for the design development was the decision to use as constructive method rammed earth walls, with natural aggregates that allows the earth to become black toned that seeks the integration and mimicry with the environment where it was intended that the main element outside was the vegetation.
