Casa Conxita in Barcelona, Spain by Adrià Escolano and David Steegmann

Article source: Adrià Escolano and David Steegmann

Living on a terrace. The project is conceived according to the client’s main desire: a house turned towards the exterior. The operation, however, is not so much to open the views to the terrace as in providing the interior with attributes of the exterior, resonances of the landscape of the roofs of the city, often invaded by clothes hanging in the sun.

Arc Village Studio in Lam Tin, Hong Kong by SIM-PLEX DESIGN STUDIO

July 20th, 2018 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: SIM-PLEX DESIGN STUDIO

Sim-Plex has transformed a 606 sq. flat in Hong Kong into combined living & working studio with a clustered of arc frame and round-corner cabinetry to form a village- like communion.

Client inspiration – As described by the client, the situation is very bad in the past. The working room is enclosed, isolated and fenced off from the living room without any sunlight. The client is an IT self-employer and he complained that the previous spacial arrangement make him lack of communication with his family members. Moreover, all the paper documents were exposed and look messy. The living room is full of debris and look untidy. ” Fluidity, openness, brightness and tidiness” as suggested by Sim-Plex to client, are the wordings which would be achieved in this project.

Article source: tai_tai STUDIO

This cafe is located in Higashinada_ku, Kobe City, Japan.

It seems that it used to be a candle shop in the past.

It remained vacant for several years after this store withdrew.

The former director of the library and the young lady of a bread milling company had found the place.

Naturally, they were thinking of making coffee, books and toast into a coffee shop.

Phutthamonthon House in Nakornpathom, Thailand by Archimontage Design Fields Sophisticated

Article source: Archimontage Design Fields Sophisticated

The family’s fundamental requirement for building house and factory in the suburb of Bangkok is to combine these two functional spaces harmoniously. The design for this compatible structure must consider functional space as much as aesthetic quality. It also needs to reflect hierarchical relationship between employer and employee in the factory. This A-shape building has three floors: the ground floor near the main entrance functions as a medium-size garment factory while the second and third floors serve as residential space. The owner provides relaxing corner and recreational space in the residential area. There is also a two-story residential building located on the other side of the land. This building is connected to the A-shape building by a big bedroom on the second floor above the veranda, which fully benefits from natural light and wind. The position of the bedroom also conforms to the traditional belief about stability.

Cabanon in Italian Ligurian Alps, Italy by Officina82

July 20th, 2018 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Officina82

The little wooden building was designed starting from the detailed study of rural constructions formerly used as barns or foliage sheds next to chestnut groves.

The proportions, the structural system and construction details have been redesigned into a small building annexed to the main house, maintaining a strong link with the rural architecture of the area and thus a coherent landscaping.

The building is located at 1,000 m a.s.l. in the heart of the Italian Ligurian Alps. The large windows on the southern facade open to a wide horizon leading to the French border. An opening on the northern wall, of the width of a chestnut board, reveals the woods at the border.
