Blending into the peaceful Alpine landscape, the architecture integrates with the mountains to produce a forward-thinking hotel design that respects tradition and captures the spirit of its location. The new 5-star Falkensteiner Hotel Montafon, with a focus on families and sustainability, has opened its doors to the public. Nestled among the forests and peaks of a protected area of the Montafon, a valley in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, it is the perfect holiday destination for enjoying the outdoors. While the architectural and landscape project was designed by Snøhetta Studio Innsbruck, the interior architecture and decoration are entirely down to the creative vision of Milanese studio Vudafieri-Saverino Partners.
Masquespacio presents the latest project it designed in Milan for sushi take away chain Ichi Station.
Previously Ichi’s founder Yango Zhang developed already a few spaces for his sushi take away chain, although with this new opening he wanted to give major importance to the dine-in experience. The identity previously developed for Ichi’s spaces was inspired by a travel and a station. Thus, hereby Masquespacio proposed to evolve with that identity to a more conceptual one, maintaining its essence, but getting away from literal and traditional travel representations. For this, the Spanish design studio proposed a travel to the future through light.
In Santa Marinha we had to make three entrances. I don’t remember doing anything like that, although that’s what we enjoy the most – drawing the entrance, and also drawing the terrain. And it is always the most difficult delivery.
Our clients from Canada were looking to get away from the winter season and enjoy the tropical weather so were very clear in wanting to create an oasis that blends indoors and outdoors.

This project is a private house in Sagamihara, Kanagawa. This building faces toward a park and a river while keeping privacy. For all of the family to be able to always feel a sign of them, the living room, dining room and kitchen is in one big space, divided only by the steps.
It is a two-story building with a unique floating floor and an open ceiling, which is connected to a working space and a Japanese-style room on the second floor. In the dining room, a big umbrella shaped light is hung so as the family can gather and have a meal together under it. The site is quite narrow, but with the open ceiling and steps, the space can feel wider.
MADEC – Open Museum of Economic Development of Caxias do Sul is a cultural center allied to a business hub organized in the form of an open museum, which consists of five buildings connected to each other by universally accessible open paths that permeate the natural landscape of the CIC land, embracing and preserving the existing building.
The idea is that the project be represented from four economic forces, considered the basis for the development of the city of Caxias do Sul: AGRICULTURE + TRADE + INDUSTRY + SERVICES. These four forces will be present in the materiality and spatiality of the complex.
Situated on a steep waterfront lot flanked by suburban context, the Four & Four House knits together the client’s affinity for mid-century, post-and-beam construction with contemporary adaptations. The site’s generous width with its semi-naturalized condition presented an opportunity for landscape elements to organize the sequence of the house in the form of four distinct courtyards. Clad in locally-milled yellow cedar, four massive beams frame these spaces:
