Moonlight Cabin in Victoria, Australia by Jackson Clements Burrows

Wednesday, September 16th, 2015

Article source: Jackson Clements Burrows

Located on a windswept coast line, Moonlight Cabin is a place to retreat from and engage with the landscape’s ephemeral conditions. It is a small footprint shelter (60m2) that explores the boundaries of how small is too small, challenging conventional notions of what is actually necessary in our lives. It is designed to be passively environmentally responsive, ultimately reducing energy use and running costs whilst maximising occupant amenity.

Restoration – Mythenschloss in Zurich, Switzerland by Fischer Architekten AG

Wednesday, September 16th, 2015

Article source: Fischer Architekten AG

Competition, Zurich 2014; 3rd place: The almost-lakeside Mythenschloss is located as an urban component within a mixture of stone, neoclassical buildings and modern glass cubes. Although its location marks an interface between the city square and the water, the structure is identical on both sides – the Mythenquais and Alfred-Escher-Strasse. The concept aims to correct this lack of differentiation and have differentiated sides.

The expansion of the Cathedral of Créteil in France by Architecture-Studio

Tuesday, September 15th, 2015

Article source: Architecture-Studio

In 2009, on the initiative of Bishop Santier, the diocesan association of Créteil, supported by the Chantiers du Cardinal, opted for an ambitious project to expand the cathedral of Notre- Dame de Créteil. Conceived by Charles-Gustave Stoskopf, holder of the Prix de Rome, this architecture is typical of the 1970s when “the theology of blending-in” prevailed at the time. It is part of the contemporary heritage of the City of Créteil.

Tuesday, September 15th, 2015

Article source: Grupo Aranea

The project for the Rafal High School was addressed in 2007 as a frontal rejection of the speculative urban sprawl that has been responsible for the rapid disappearance of the fertile agricultural land in the area of Vega Baja, transforming it into a landscape dotted with series of cloned houses totally foreign to this place.
