Bellopuerto Reforma Restaurant in Mexico City, México by Estudio Atemporal

Wednesday, August 19th, 2015

Article source: Estudio Atemporal

Preserving the essence of its sister house in Polanco, Reforma Bellopuerto integrates in its terrace the experience of the Port of Acapulco.Within premises with different heights, we insert the island bar as a leading element of the restaurant; the double height of the hall enables natural light into the interior, which in turn is replaced by luminaries on rails at different heights.

Strawberry Vale Elementary School in Victoria, British Columbia by Patkau Architects

Wednesday, August 19th, 2015

Article source: Patkau Architects

Strawberry Vale School is a public school for students from kindergarten to grade seven. The site is in a semirural area on the outskirts of Victoria and immediately north of a Garry oak woodland, a rare and delicate ecosystem unique to the region. The design of the school is inspired by the environmental knowledge embedded in the vernacular language of rural buildings; like such buildings, the structure aspires to give architectural form to natural forces.

Victoria Park, E9 in British Columbia by Scenario Architecture

Tuesday, August 18th, 2015

Article source: Scenario Architecture

The property is a two storey semi-detached house post war constrcution in the middle of a row of terrace houses. Our clients, a young couple, came to us to redesign the ground floor as the previous layout was not suitable for their style of living. The areas were dark and segragated and they ended up not using them at all. The house had previously a rear poorly made and non-insulated conservatory raised three steps from the rear garden, and a rear extension with ancillary spaces.

Midden Studio in Britain, United Kingdom by Studio Weave

Tuesday, August 18th, 2015

Article source: Studio Weave

Perched on the edge of Britain, Midden Studio is a surreal atavistic building that reveals its secrets slowly. The spiky zinc-clad artist’s studio nestles by a stream on the west coast of Scotland. The building sits on top of a Victorian midden wall (formerly the depository for dung from the nearby stables).

Double view house in Bratislava, Slovakia by Architekti Sebo Lichy

Tuesday, August 18th, 2015

Article source: Architekti Sebo Lichy

The family house is located in a steep terrain on a narrow land in a densely built-up part of the town. These conditions have determined the first architectural constraints. On the one hand, this place offers a panoramic view of the city, on the other hand a view of the green, tranquil gardens and fruit trees. The house is artfully fitted into the hillside to fully utilize the possibilities of the space.
