Article source: Dirk Mayer Architects

A Family house with two studios. Our aim was to break up the relatively large volume as far as possible within the limitations and to create different rooms, terraces, covered outdoor spaces and courtyards. The two units are separate and yet a whole. The fantastic views along the North coast of Madeira are enjoyed fully. A large glass area in the South allows to take advantage of the winter sun in the otherwise north oriented house.

One oscillates between interior and exterior mental, physical, and conceptual limits.
