Pompidou Metz restaurant extension in France by studiolada architectes

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016

Article source: studiolada architectes

Finished in 2010, the Pompidou Metz center imagined by Shigeru Ban quickly became an architectural icon not only for the city of Metz, but also for the region and even the country. Given the important number of visitors to the Museum and the restaurant, the need for more inside eating space on the terrace soon became apparent. However, the idea of intervening on an existing building does not come without important implications regarding architectural integrity ― the intervention will indeed modify the façaces and volumes of the existing structure.

Article source: Architectural studio CHADO

Elite house in the Rostov region The severe and laconic outline of the building, the large heavy roof – it all creates enormity, static impression. At the same time, the huge stained glass windows do not prevent a view from penetrating to the interior space, revealing the building structures which are the main aesthetic value. Specially highlighted structure shows the inner beauty of the building.

Khazar Residential Building in Tehran, Iran by S-A-L Design Studio

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016

Article source: S-A-L Design Studio

Project’s site is located in one of North Tehran vicinities which comprises of condensed cluster buildings and narrow alleys. Therefore, approximately an amount of 48 sq. m. of the total land area of 350 sq. m. was neglected by the municipality code in order to widen the alley. In addition to the client’s required physical program, this issue led the building to be extremely compressed, as well as parking lots to be hard to design and the mass of building to be solid for shaping.

Early architecture was built maybe merely to accommodate people. As time changes, city breath permeates into architecture and stamps them with urbanization. Just like the old residential buildings in shanghai.

Fashionable Villa with Rich Feng Shui in China by Another Design Interntional

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016

Article source: Another Design Interntional

Julian and his wife, Mana, a fashion designer, chose the 3,500 sq ft, five-storey house they have now been living in for 18 months for its stunning views over the country park, Plover Cove Reservoir and the South China Sea.

“It is a famous feng shui area because you can see three ‘dishes’ of water – the reservoir and the sea on either side of an island – which is a sign of very good fortune. There are green mountain views and we can also see the Kwun Yum [statue] from our rooftop on a clear day,” says Chan. “I love it because we are so close to nature – you can hear the birds sing during the day and the insects whistling at night. One of our priorities was the private glass-fronted terrace [with water wall] so we could take advantage of our natural environment.”

Coupée Croisée (Cut & Cross) in Montréal, Canada by YH2

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016

Article source: v2com

Coupée Croisée is the extension of a Ville Mont-Royal cottage, the enclosed garden-city of Montreal.

With quality lands of good dimensions, the framework is overshadowed by a neighborhood of residences with poor architectural qualities.

In order to build upon the natural qualities of the location while respecting the rigorous municipal regulatory constraints, we adopted a concept that gave its name to the project. The building was cut (coupé) in two, maintaining the street-side half, and completing it with a new half focused towards the yard. The residence is organized by a cross (croisé) pattern.
