Archi-Fiore in Gyeonggi-do, Korea by IROJE KHM Architects

Sunday, August 2nd, 2015

Article source: IROJE KHM Architects

  • Architectural flower

A great flower of metal masses, made of a minus curved surface is installed in ARCHI-FIORE as a concept using “pop art”, and by doing so I intended to enhance the identity of commercial buildings. To respond to context, to give identity as commercial building, the shape of this project has been curved shape like flower. We expect this complex building will be the architectural flower as land mark of this town.

Article source: Ibelings van Tilburg architecten

A new residential building up to 70 metres in height and including 114 apartments is added to the existing Ter Meulen shopping building in Rotterdam. This is an unusual project as the new building literally rests on the columns and foundations of the  existing structure. The only additions are a pair of concrete lift shafts which also provide stability.

THE HACIENDA COMMUNITY HOUSE in Santa Rosa, Philippines by Jorge Yulo Architects & Associates

Saturday, August 1st, 2015

Article source: Jorge Yulo Architects & Associates

The site sits on a parcel of land that was part of a once contiguous seven thousand hectare sugar estate consolidated during the Spanish occupation. Because of its vicinity to the nucleus city and vulnerability development, the estate’s land area has been preyed upon by Manila’s urban overspill. The Hacienda is a community that strives to preserve the estate’s history by achieving a similar sense of place, that allows systematic cycles from the past to continue while introducing new assimilative cycles.
