It is all about the apple in the ‘Apfelhotel Torgglerhof’ in Saltaus in the Passiria Valley in Northern Italy. The agricultural farm and the hotel extend on 3 buildings and form the farm ensemble – surrounded by numerous apple trees and nature. For noa* network of architecture the starting point and key element of the design was the circle of the apple throughout the year: bloom, harvest, refinement and repose period.

Drink Me in Castellanza, Italy by Nicola G Design

Thursday, August 4th, 2016

Article source: Nicola G Design

Nicola Ghilardi meets his friend Alessandro, returning in Italy after a demanding and intense barman experience in some London pubs and dreaming about opening his own pub in Italy, to be able to propose his cocktails, his beers, his burgers & eggs and his Tea-Time…. and he’s dreaming, dreaming, dreaming And, suddenly, it breaks out the Mad Hatter, the architect character, creating a magic potion Challenges. The Mad Hatter Architect catches sight of Alice, fallen in the White Rabbit hole, drinking the “DRINK ME” magic potion…. and here is where all the magic to create a fantastic place, where anything could happen, any spell could become reality. The design is based on the idea of revisiting a traditional old English pub and, by sprinkling it with the magical powder, transform it in the Wonderland, where to meet Alice and her friends. The final result places the customer sipping a drink, totally absorbed by the fairy tale, sailing between rabbits, grass walls, huge clocks and teapot-shaped lamps, yet in a typical Old London pub atmosphere, standing at the Victorian bar, shedding a multicoloured light illuminating his astonished face while, enchanted, he’s looking at the Union Jack suspended in the trees.

Sillim-dong Share House in Seoul, South Korea by JYA-RCHITECTS

Thursday, August 4th, 2016

Article source: JYA-RCHITECTS

Sodam-Sodam is a share house.

The very first question we asked ourselves about this project was: “what is the most unique charm of a share house in today’s housing reality?”

The answer was simple: nicely designed and spacious spaces such as a kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom, all of which individuals may not be able to afford or dream of—at least in a crowded and expensive city like Seoul.

House in Alentejo Coast, Portugal by aires mateus e associados

Thursday, August 4th, 2016

Article source: aires mateus e associados

Among the pines trees, a stone plateau is drawn to a scale that can no longer be understood as a courtyard. The space embraces a wide area of trees. The house and its services define a recognizable solid border. The interior of this boundary is inhabitable and characterized by light. The more open side of the house creates a water tank through the connection of geometries. A space that embraces its context is created through this closed extension.

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016

Article source: Ka-Buro

We had a task to design a complex of locker buildings which would be in harmony with the natural environment on the territory of the “Luzhniki” Olympic complex. The project was implemented as temporary buildings which were assembled from modular structures. The buildings are located in front of each other in order to make a conditional corridor that would lead to the locker. Modular buildings were provided by a specialized company www.modul.org.

Rose Pavilion by Vasily Klyukin

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016

Article source: Vasily Klyukin

Roses are the most beautiful flowers and they are a gift of those who are in love. Since I’m in love with architecture I would like to make this gift to a city in the world.

Every celebration or special event cannot do without these flowers originate from ancient Rome since roses are the best decoration. In art these flowers have inspired many painters and I want to interpret them in architecture to create an adornment for a city.

Mainz Markthäuser 11-13 in Germany by Studio Fuksas

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016

Article source: Studio Fuksas

The building is located in the centre of the city of Mainz. The façade looks towards a historical pedestrian square and towards the milestone of the city, the Mainzer Dom (Mainz Cathedral), built in the X century. Alongside there is a shopping centre, built in 1970.

Like many other European city centres, this important location has been compromised by thoughtless projects dating back to the mid-20th-century and post-war reparation work. Nothing is authentic (even the historical buildings are almost all reconstructed).  Nevertheless, the principle of conservation prevailed, so the city centre has become an eclectic mix, synonym for beauty.

Southwood in London, England by LLI Design

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016

Article source: v2com

LLI Design recently completed a total redesign and refurbishment of a 4 story 1970’s townhouse in Highgate, a leafy and desirable part of London.

The house had tremendous potential and the new owners, a young professional couple, wanted to embrace the 1970’s feel, rather than try to ignore it, albeit not in a cliched way. Top of their wish list was a contemporary glass and steel open tread staircase and a master bathroom with a distinctive WOW factor.

Private House in Val Tidone, Italy by Park Associati

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016

Article source: Park Associati

This house is situated in the foothills of the Val Tidone, in the Piacentine countryside. Conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional ‘cascina’ and barns typical of the area – reflected in the materials and proportions – it presents itself as a modern design, free from nostalgic elements.
