Wednesday, January 31st, 2018

Article source: RUBEN MUEDRA ESTUDIO DE ARQUITECTURA

The project arises from the desire of the customer – a multinational plastic injection molding company – to adapt the image of its current office building to the corporate identity and entity of the company at the present moment, where it has positioned itself as an international benchmark in the sector under the premise of “passion and innovation in plastics”, at the forefront in design and the most advanced technologies without abandoning their origins of artisan work and exhaustive care of the product.

Wednesday, January 31st, 2018

Article source: PILDONG2GA Architects

Project BSTONY lies on Dolsan Island, an island off the coast of Yeosu, South Jeolla Province. The island’s coastal route passes through small villages housing the lives and livelihoods of island locals. A twenty-minute drive down this road leads to an unassuming structure.

At the first meeting, the client requested a café with a garden and minimal housing capacity for mangement. The site was located at the bottom of Cheonwang Mountain and retained the natural slope of the foothills.

A Buried Concrete Structure For A Winery in Girona, Spain by Víctor Rahola Arquitecte

Wednesday, January 31st, 2018

Article source: Víctor Rahola Arquitecte

The winery program is the result of the need to produce wine and organize a relationship with the existing land house. There are four main spaces for the wine production with three more areas between them. These three are service spaces with all the facilities and storage. The first main space in the right, next to the laboratories and freezers, is the one for all the farming instruments and tools for the vineyards. The second one is for all the vats needed for the “mosto wine” production. The third one is for those vats and bottles that are resting. The last one, and forth, is the area for tastings, enjoyment and storage of the bottles that are ready to be open. The access through a tunnel from the upper side of the house serves as organizer for the circulation of the owners. The three remaining service areas are accessed directly from the vineyards.

Captured by the mystique and mystery of the Icelandic landscape, where, according to local mythology, ‘invisible people’ and ‘half-men, half-trolls’ are believed to roam, Johannes Torpe Studios has designed a place of unparalleled harmony. The Red Mountain Resort is a proposal for a spa and wellness retreat that offers guests a sensory escape into the solitude and seclusion of the breath-taking Icelandic nature; a place that is earthly and otherworldly at the same time.

Article source: K1 artStudio / Twins Design Project

In the heart of \”Rione Sassi\” in Matera, the launge-restaurant, in the perfect Speakeasy’s style of the 1920s, has been designed in the smallest details.

The particular conformation of the environment, on the ground floor of an ancient building, made it necessary to design custom items that could meet the specific needs of each small space.

Space Cloud in Taipei, Taiwan by YUAN ARCHITECTS

Wednesday, January 31st, 2018

Article source: YUAN ARCHITECTS

In the exhibition area, the “rational and mechanical” modular scaffolding system conducts a dialogue with the life force of the dinosaurs that is “primal and organic”. While the rough scaffolding balances out the dinosaur’s gigantic scope, the gradient of the lighting, which seems to breathe, creates a spatial concept that is contrasting yet harmonious between the cold, blue-light scaffolding and the warm, yellow-light dinosaurs. The exhibition area is like a cloud in the space, fusing with the dinosaur to become one being.

The Place

It is a corner lot in a closed neighborhood founded in 1968, with an important afforestation, to which the years have added an incalculable value. Different species of trees and shrubs combined give landscape value to the place throughout the year.

The lot to intervene is crossed by a row of large oaks and varied species on one of their fronts and in the bordering lots.
