Bach with 2 Roofs in New Zealand by irving smith architects

Thursday, November 23rd, 2017

Article source: irving smith architects

New Zealand was the last landmass to be inhabited, and then deforested with unrivalled speed. Its new cleared landscapes are still so young they shift, when they fail new native trees grow. It might take a hundred years or more, but buildings that participate in this shift could one day inhabit near-original forest. This is something new, for New Zealand architecture was established and has remained in clearings. To inhabit its original forest landscape, architecture must understand existing context rather than generate new landscapes, it must be soft, patient and ready to change; as we exhibited at the 2015 Prague International Architecture Festival entitled Soft-Context:Soft-Architecture.

Golkar Jakarta Office in Indonesia by Delution Architect

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017

Article source: Delution Architect

Narasi:

What do you think when you hear a political party office? For us, Delution, political office especially in Indonesia has a rigid impression, sealed, unfriendly, and fortify themselves from the society. Perhaps the frequent internal or external conflicts of the party and also the public demos are the main reasons for the impression of the fortified and sealed offices of the party, but philosophically, it is very contradictory to see that the life of a political party exists in its own constituents. Golkar Party of DPD DKI Jakarta, as the project owner and one of the oldest party in Indonesia intends to conduct a revolution to become a more modern, transparent, collaborative, and open party so that it can begin to attract the attention of young people who are interested in politics to practice directly, of course all the visions must be in line with the office building which is the main container of activity and “face of civilization” of this political party.

Flavours And Spice Restaurant in Mumbai, India by GA design

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017

Article source: GA design

Conceived as a comfort-oriented restaurant, with classic aesthetics and relaxed ambience, Flavours’n’spice has been designed in a modern contemporary style for a gymkhana (sports club) in Mumbai. With a client brief of a day and night, fine dining restaurant to accommodate 110 people along with sufficient private and group dining spaces for all age groups, the creation of a warm and relaxed atmosphere was of utmost importance to enhance the dining experience of the patrons. The overall design intent therefore attempts to create a timeless design using an organic approach that brings the nature outside into the indoors. An elegant, earthy colour palette is used in the interiors to further augment the warm, relaxed and cosy aesthetic that is typically seen in old English Restaurants, while the décor is inherently contemporary Indian in style.

Article source: Gottlieb Paludan Architects and URBAN DESIGN

Värtaverket is surrounded by industrial, office, residential and recreational areas. This major extension was required to show consideration for its neighbours, and respect the presence of a number of protected oak trees and the function of the area as a fauna path between the northern and southern parts of Djurgården – a scenic area that blends into Stockholm proper.
