Clearly identifiable from the public space and the tram stop ( the tram line serves the area), the house of the Sardine district will be implanted in a highly  developing area., between the new eco-friendly Artigon district and the existing suburban area.

The program is contained in a wood monolith, deformed to be adapted to street corners respecting the distances imposed by town planning regulations, and to fully benefit from all the views and  the panorama. These spaces will be green areas and occupied by units integrating storage for bikes, rubbish bins, street lamps and technical lockers.

Palillos II House in Lima, Peru by Staff7

Wednesday, June 25th, 2014

Article source: Staff7

The project is on the beach Palillos, south of Lima, Peru to 116 kilometers from the city.

The starting point was to achieve transparency, so as not to obstruct the sea view, and not just people who live there can see the beach but also the neighbors who are not in and walking back. This was achieved by placing the private spaces to the side, making a coated stone volume and the rooms are on the second level, public spaces like the living room and kitchen in most area so you can see through them with clear glass. To keep privacy between outside and inside the income level rises. Another important point is achieved with the design is the connection of the outer housing glasses to hide inside the walls and be completely open to the outside.

Tunquen House in Valparaíso Region by Nicolas Loi

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014

Article source: Nicolas Loi

The house is locates in the beach area of Tunquén, central coast of Chile, in an almost flat site near the sea. From the ground level of the site, the views to the sea are limited, so the first design choice was to locate the most important areas of the house in the first level, from where the sea and the beach can be seen more easily.

House K in Tokyo, Japan by Yuji Kimura Design

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014

Article source: Yuji Kimura Design

It is a house of the white appearance of a large wall blocking the front, the thinness of the component was emphasized.

The site is located in the place with comparatively much traffic surrounded by the residence both sides and right behind.

Since the owner request was a residence with the deck space which can settle down, it was considered as a plan to make a big wall blocking the line of sight on the road side front, mounted a box extending elongated in the east-west direction.

RETREAT PAVILION in Santiago, Penafiel by FRANCISCO PORTUGAL E GOMES

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014

Article source: FRANCISCO PORTUGAL E GOMES

The project anticipates the rearrangement of an already existent construction annexed to a small house, in a refuge pavilion with 50 m².

The implanting of the new building follows the limits of this existent construction in the west side, recycling small stone. The opposite side is rebuilt, realigned and, reusing the granite header from the best walls, is created an uncovered yard that serves as entrance and, at the same time, decompresses the proximity with the neighbouring house. This reconstructed element melts itself with the new construction interlinking the granite wall with horizontal slate plates of 3 cm in thickness placed in small stone cubes making a continuous grate that draws the building.

RESTAURANT + TEA HOUSE in Oporto, Portugal by FRANCISCO PORTUGAL E GOMES

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014

Article source: FRANCISCO PORTUGAL E GOMES

This work is located in the granite peak of Antas in the south side facing the valley of Campanhã. The toponymy evokes that in this place megalithic funerary monuments (Dolmens) will have existed, but this is one of the areas of Oporto city that more suffered with the successive transformations of the last decades, as, to point out, the construction of the new Dragon Stadium, inserted in the Detail Plan of Antas (1999-2003) and the construction of the road junction of Via de Cintura Interna / Antas, which occurred in the 80s of the XX century. This last process resulted in the demolition of the northern half of the Vasques de Mesquita Street and in the southern half only a part where the work is located resisted.
