V_Itaim is a small building with 10 apartments in São Paulo designed by studio mk27. Its simplicity and the search for generous spaces in a careful composition of material oriented the architectural project.
The façade of the building is done in exposed reinforced concrete and wooden panels, conceived to shade the inner environments and which the residents can move according to their desires. In this way, the users can optimize their comfort depending on their use and the incidence of the sun.

The result is a modern escape, powerful in its simplicity yet packed with exquisitely conceived details.
It is in the very special geography of the Swiss Jura, near the Lac de Joux (which freezes over in Winter), close to the ski slopes, hiking trails and bike routes where the R. family wished to settle. It is in this very special universe that the architects designed a singular space in response to the location and needs of the family by establishing strong relationships between inner spaces and territory.
Designed by Aedas, the project occupies one of the best locations in Dubai Marina, facing the Arabian Gulf on one side and the Dubai Marina on the other. It consists of three residential towers standing above a cluster of podium loft units with retail facilities at lower levels. The towers range from 43 to 56 storeys, offering spacious, modern apartments and duplex penthouses. They are tied together by a seven-storey podium that houses waterfront villas and boutique retail units. Each building has its own tropical pool deck, gym and facilities.
This is an exercise to make this two storey building appear as a single storey by placing the first floor on top of a ground floor stone plinth on the street side, hiding all ground floor activities. At the same time extensive shaded glazing on the garden and pool side is creating a horizontal void directly connecting and unifying the indoors with the outdoors. The combination of the heavy stone base and the continuous glazing makes the curved concrete structure on the first floor appear to be floating. The elevated site has unobstructed views to the Pentedaktylos mountains during the day and the lights of Nicosia town at night. The open space between the guest bedroom and living room creates a sheltered outdoor sitting area with an open fire. The plan is linear and all rooms share the same stunning views.
EGG project was an order from a client full of restlessness – OJ.
OJ acquired a sculpture, called ‘Seed’, of the contemporary Portuguese artist Rui Chafes. The piece built in iron finds its purpose in the universality of OJ’s mind that seeks values such as origin, purity and universal mystery.
In a second stage, OJ threw us the challenge to design and build a space to receive and expose the ‘Seed’, promoting a deep reflection between Art and Architecture. The designed space is in the basement of his home in Fideris, located in the Swiss Alps.

Stockholm is growing fast and the Loudden area, the former international transport harbour, on the northeastern island of Djurgården, is planned to be converted into a new urban area. In line with the overall direction for this new development to achieve real long term environmentally sustainable solutions, Tham & Videgård Arkitekter have developed a proposal for apartment blocks of solid wood.

The house consists of two structures, perpendicular to each other, and a third one serving the swimming pool.
Due to its volume this house seems to have two floors, but it is, in fact, distributed almost exclusively in one. The structure of the living rooms, with a double height ceiling, which also houses the study and the gallery located on the first floor, grants it another volume dimension.
