Article source: Ghigos Ideas

The project for the new SAE campus in Milan works with the brand multiplication. The logo is translated into signage, furnishing and architecture, in order to communicate the company identity, mission and values to let more effectively experience those by students and people. SAE visual identity, constituted by horizontal lines, is broken down into its elements to turn into an architectural element, thus a more effective communication tool.

KIA Landgraaf by diederendirrix architects

Tuesday, February 11th, 2014

Article source: diederendirrix architects

diederendirrix architects made the winning design for Landgraaf’s new Knowledge, Information and Advice Centre (KIA). Construction starts early 2015.

The municipality of Landgraaf (the Netherlands) has been working for quite some time on a multi-purpose centre, which will bring together a range of services and organisations under one roof. The existing city hall will be extended with a pavilion, a transparent space in contact with and with views of its surroundings on all sides. The heart of the new KIA coincides with the existing city hall’s central space. The new heart has its main entrance on the Raadhuisplein (city hall square) but will also have a prominent entrance at the rear of the city hall together with a green passage leading to Lichtenberg City Park.

The environment of this former stationmaster house has radically changed in recent decades. On the west side, the railways have given way to a big park with trees that have since matured. On the east side, there is now a suspended highway that cuts through the city. The renovation and expansion of this property fits into this transformed context.
