Friday, June 27th, 2014

Article source: ABIN DESIGN STUDIO

Kolkata is an ancient city in eastern part of India. Post Independence, this city has not grown like others in India, and has not yet adopted architectural characters. On the contrary this city is becoming more chaotic & mono dramatic. But the city definitely has vibrant life, and people here have love for Art & Culture. As client vision was to give the most expressive, vibrant, technologically advanced & sustainable management institute, we thought about adding colours to city life.

DEPARTMENTAL AND REGIONAL ARCHERY CENTRE in Chennevières-sur-Marne, France by ATELIER PHILEAS

Thursday, June 26th, 2014

Article source: ATELIER PHILEAS

Urban Park

The site hosting Chennevières-sur-Marne’s future archery centre is located in an area of low popluation density of high vegetation quality. This vegetation gives the site the feel of a town park, which we felt it was important to retain.

The outer training field is treated as an integral part of the building. Its setting on the site is justified by the need to direct the shooting and the outdoor targets towards the north. The outdoor layouts, including a vegetated mound, are designed as an extension of the building.

MERCEDES HOUSE IN GARDEN CITY, A CORUÑA, Spain by CREUSeCARRASCOarquitectos

Thursday, June 26th, 2014

Article source: CREUSeCARRASCOarquitectos

The plot, like all those of the same alignment, has the particularity of being limited at the back by another much higher level which situates the dwellings on the base of a high floor through which the access occurs. With its front facing north, the solution of the housing is also conditioned by the two lateral setbacks that fix the plan and by the minimum width dimensions of the plot. The interior layout is organized into two areas that occupy the northern and southern extremities of the construction; between them appear the elements of communication and a patio facing the interior space through large panes of glass.
