The Paris atelier C comme C is causing a stir: extraordinary design for new restaurant on Montmartre .
C comme C, the architecture and design bureau of Carole Chuffart und Carole Vermont with headquarters in Paris, designed the atypical interior of the restaurant Jeanne B at the foot of Montmartre. This is the fourth time already that the enterprising Parisian gastronome Frédéric Hubig has commissioned the two designers, most recently in 2010 for Jeanne A.

The 21st century opens a gateway to the new era of modern technologies and innovations. With the widespread of 3D and even 4D high definition movies available on global market, the old method of filming has gone scarce, if not extinct. When thinking of the theme for this cinema, the designers want to trace back to the roots when film making began. Back in the 19th century, photographers captured continual images and stored them on a single compact reel of film. This ancient object – roll films, was being symbolized all over the cinema, reminding the audience the long forgotten history behind the scene.

Located near the foot of the Teton Mountains, the site and a relatively modest program with a desire for intimate scale, led to placing the main house and guest quarters in separate buildings configured to form outdoor spaces. With mountains rising to the northwest and a stream cutting through the southeast corner of the lot, this placement of the main house and guest cabin distinctly responds to the two scales of the site. The public and private wings of the main house define the exterior space to the northwest, which is visually enclosed by the prominence of the mountains beyond. At a more intimate scale, the garden walls of the main house and guest cabin enclose the entry court to the south east.

The building is situated in the center of the plot, respecting the limits for construction and plot ratio.
The house rises as a single body. Its shape is influenced by physical and morphological conditions and by the program.
The initial idea of the project is to expand the building up inside the parcel and surrounding existing trees in order to preserve the maximum possible trees; later the shape was adapted to the program, to acquire the final setting.
