Article source: Co-Direction Interior Design

The name of the hotel “Change Vacation Hotel” came from a poem of Tao Yuan-Ming, who was a poet in Song Dynasty. «Ah, homeward bound I go! »: “The farmers will come and tell me that spring is here and there will be work to do at the western farm.”

Tao Yuan-Ming’s idyllic life with freedom and no worries is the client’s original intention to establish this hotel. The client wants to create an inn where they can talk and drink with the guests from different places.

The shape of the building comes from the need to rework an existing project according to the Swiss town planning regulations: the result was an irregular and faceted prism.

The original building dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and it is an example of the so-called “tabià”, a typical alpine construction, famous in our region Veneto which was used in farmer times as stables and barn. The structural type of this tabià is called “a telaio” with wooden beams and pillars.

Since it is placed on a sloping ground, the tabià has a partially buried basement, composed by walls made of stone.
