Tsm3 Unstable House in Madrid, Spain by Carlos Arroyo Arquitectos

Friday, May 24th, 2013

Article source: Carlos Arroyo Arquitectos

TSM3  Unstable House combines the restoration of the ground floor of a 59,80 sqm terraced property in the centre of Madrid, and the construction of 2,5 new floors on top, with 154 sqm. The design dematerializes the original construction into a flexible home-cum-office that can change anytime. All the elements that define the living space are in a state of flux. The architecture does not seek to define and limit through fixed elements such as structures, walls or gaps, but rather through a series of devices producing actions or situations.

Friday, May 24th, 2013

Article source: AGi Architects

The building for children should be created from the child’s point of view, where the design is set specifically to familiarize with their world. The design should also have the flexibility to evolve and grow simultaneously as the children themselves grow, laying the foundation of every form of learning in the future.

Article source: Castell-Pons Arquitectes

The project combines the preexistences and the urban development conditions, to interact with the users’ way of life.

City. Interaction architecture – surroundings.

On the one hand, we try to give a response to the complex surroundings by raising a building with an own geometry. A volume with different heights that takes the most advantage of solar orientation and ventilation where the game between emptinesses, hollows and interior court gets the maximum use of the space.

Head Road 1815 in Fresnaye, Cape Town, South Africa by SAOTA – Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

Article source: SAOTA – Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects

The clients, a young couple, wanted a dynamic and striking home, primarily for themselves, with guest accommodation separated from their own living areas. The property views towards the north and west over Fresnaye as well as at the rear of the site. The site falls very steeply and due to the high elevation of the road and the restrictions on the building form, the house is raised above the property on high columns.

The facility treats and processes domestic solid waste for the whole of Qatar – recycling select materials and using organic waste to generate various forms of energy. More than 95% of the waste is reclaimed or converted into energy, with less than 5% of the materials entering the facility diverted to a landfill.
