We constructed employees space, where everything, starting with the labor law and ending with paintings on the walls respective personalities, inspired to create, surprise, generate ideas, and even relax. We did not seek to create a standard office, wanted to do everything with the ambition, unconventional. The interior is dominated by natural unpainted galvanized metal, openwork partitions, graphically composes into the interior of the building along with old bricks and drawings on the walls. To arouse curiosity, surprise means one out of the office interior design concepts.

Article source: Ferdinand and Ferdinand Architects

10- 15 years ago the topic of mobility gained momentum in the Hungarian contemporary architecture. Many young architects realised that a major  task of the next generation of architects/enginiers and urban designes will be the redefinition and reshaping of the existing urban infrastructure.  Architecture and mobility will have implications not only on the traffic systems (means of traffic) of the 21st century, they will have impact on social spaces, public parks, as well.

IRON PORCH HOUSE in Nagykovácsi, Hungary by Földes és Társai Építésziroda

Thursday, April 27th, 2017

Article source:  Földes és Társai Építésziroda

The 726 sqm site, being reminiscent of a fairy glade, is located at the northern part of Nagykovácsi.  The garden surrounded by young fruit trees and pines on three sides has idyllic atmosphere. There are cottages, some new family homes and most of all green all around. The square site is slightly sloped to the street and wide enough for a long house to fit in between its borders.  These makings suggested that the fourth side of the garden should be closed by the house itself creating intimate atmosphere inside.

Renovation of an alpine barn in Canale D’agordo, Italy by SBSA – Sandri Barbara Smaniotto Andrea Architetti Associati

Thursday, April 6th, 2017

Article source: SBSA – Sandri Barbara Smaniotto Andrea Architetti Associati

The original building dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and it is an example of the so-called “tabià”, a typical alpine construction, famous in our region Veneto which was used in farmer times as stables and barn. The structural type of this tabià is called “a telaio” with wooden beams and pillars.

Since it is placed on a sloping ground, the tabià has a partially buried basement, composed by walls made of stone.

Article source: Driss Kettani Architecte

This house is projected on a north-south oriented plot and features a blind façade on the street while being largely open on the side and the back with the south oriented garden.

The plan “silhouette” is the consequence of the urban rules and the need to perfectly fit with the adjoining house on the east.

House M in Möhlin, Switzerland by Jan Skuratowski Architektur

Wednesday, March 1st, 2017

Article source: Jan Skuratowski Architektur

The new single-family house was designed as a separate residential unit and can hold its own next to the existing building from the 80s. It is situated on a partly raised plateau in the south-eastern part of the property. The two buildings differ in their roof design and thus emphasize their autonomy. At the same time, the new building paraphrases the existing building’s design: by its polygonal ground plan, which follows the hill’s shape, and expressive cantilevered floors. Wood was used a material to contrast the rather heavy sand-lime brick of the existing structure. Hierarchically, the new building is supposed to subordinate to the existing building and is therefore set slightly to the rear of the site. The new structure appears like a pavilion and, thanks to the flat roof, has a large accessible roof terrace that expands the small plot effectively. The greening of the roofs is intended to give the new building an animated character and link it with nature and the hill.
