BOTERBLOEM FOR HABITAR IN ROESELARE, BELGIUM by BURO II & ARCHI+I

Sunday, February 14th, 2016

Article source: BURO II & ARCHI+I

A spectacular before & after

The building is located in the city centre, where the offices and social housing apartments of the Mandel used to be. The building was converted into a residential building comprising 10 spacious apartments, 2 penthouses, 9 garages and a basement. The Boterbloem project tackles the challenge of combining top class architecture with the renovation of an apartment building, situated in an exclusive location in the centre of Roeselaere, and turn it into a beautiful, contemporary architectural concept.

Article source: Architects GG-loop

The city and its various parts can be seen as a music score, the edifices acting as notes played by different instruments simultaneously. A melody is created by, what the Romans used to call Genius Loci, the spirit of the place, the conductor of the city.

Working in the nature by LCArchitetti

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016

Article source: LCArchitetti

The site, once occupied by another building, is closed to the city center.

From the beginning we decided to have a sustainable approach and realize the new building on the existing trace so as not to waste other land. The concept of the project is really clear: it’s a two-storey building (8 m high) with a simple rectangular plan. It has a wooden frame structure. The pitched roof with no eaves recalls the children archetypal house.
