The building is located in the historical center of Lagos, Rua do Jardim, Rua General Alberto da Silveira, Rua Dr. Júlio Dantas and Travessa da Coroa.

It adjoins the four streets, with fronts built in all the above mentioned streets, forming a quarter.

The existing buildings, were very degraded, without possibility of adaptation.

U.S. Land Port of Entry in Minnesota by Snow Kreilich Architects

Project Overview

Located along the Minnesota-Canadian border the Warroad Land Port of Entry is a 40,108-square-foot facility that supports the mission-driven demands of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the federal agency responsible for securing the nation’s borders and promoting legal trade and travel. The facility is composed of three distinctly functioning buildings united by a continuous canopy that manages a complex set of operational issues including site circulation of commercial, private, and recreational vehicles and state-of-the-art vehicle inspections. The main building serves as the public interface, the officer work and training area and the secure holding cell area of the facility. The secondary building is used for enclosed vehicle inspections and houses the firing range. Finally, the commercial building allows for complete unloading and inspections of semi-trucks.

Project Overview

The Aspinall U.S. Courthouse modernization/high-performing green building renovation preserves an anchor in Grand Junction, and converts the 1918 landmark into one of the most energy efficient, sustainable historic buildings in the country. Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the $15 million project aims to be GSA’s first net-zero energy facility on the National Register. The project has achieved LEED® Platinum certification, and scores in the top 2% of LEED-NC v2009 projects on the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Building Information Gateway (GBIG).

Project Overview

The Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt (EGWW) Federal Building Project modernized an existing 18-story, 512,474-square-foot office tower located in downtown Portland. Completed in 1974, the building’s MEP systems were worn out and out-dated. The project goals included upgrading building systems, updating work environments and improving accessibility, while also meeting the energy and water conservation requirements of the Energy Independence & Security Act (EISA), complying with federal standards for blast resistance, and providing new code compliant egress stairs, entries and rest rooms. The project has transformed the building into a modern, healthy workplace for 16 federal agencies, and was completed within 39 months.

Originally planned as an occupied remodel, the project was restarted in 2009 by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA). At that time, cost benefit analyses demonstrated that a strategy of vacating the building during construction provided the best value to the GSA.

EGWW is a model project for GSA nationwide, both as a premier federal office space and as an energy efficient renovation project. This LEED Platinum certified project is projected to exceed the performance requirements of the ARRA and is on track to become one of the highest performance federal buildings in the GSA’s portfolio.

As Oy Kalasataman Fiskari and As Oy Kalasataman Fregatti, and the connecting car park are the figurehead block of the new residential area built in Kalasatama, Helsinki.

The buildings are situated by the seashore. The architectural plan won a property lease competition organized by the City of Helsinki, and was praised by the jury for its unprecedented, personal and refined whole, giving the property a strong and new identity.

Two sister Middle Eastern media companies sought to create conjoined headquarters buildings. Aside from the companies’programmatic and area requirements for the headquarters, their demands were few: propose two elegant structures that make reference to traditional Arab architecture. The companies also provided a long, slender precedent structure—approximately 100 m (330 ft) long x 22 m (72 ft) wide—for consideration that could simultaneously accommodate offices and the relatively small broadcast / news studios. REX took this slender precedent as its starting point.

The project concerns the construction of a small building in a courtyard in the center of Turin.

Actually this is the restoration of an old laboratory, used in the past as a Carpenter, and external storage.

The theme of recovery of low buildings placed inside courtyards represents an interesting opportunity to rethink the recovery of existing buildings (mostly targeting craft) aimed at the transformation of residential buildings with new spatial characteristics than those of the classic urban apartment.
