Campus Motor in Barcelona, Spain by Pere Puig Arquitecte

Thursday, March 2nd, 2017

Article source: Pere Puig Arquitecte

The building is connected to a racetrack located in Barcelona, and is actively used as a training site for professional motor racing.  Several companies involved in the industry have set up permanent offices in this building.

A flexible design was needed for the building so that it could accommodate several companies of varying sizes.  For this reason, the building is divided between several 35 square meter subdivisions or sectors.  Each is independent from the other, and all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) utilities were installed below each sector, allowing for an unobstructed view, optimal energy efficiency, and minimized energy consumption.

The ‘House of Delft’ Mixed-Use Hub in The Netherlands by Van Dongen – Koschuch Architects and Planners

Article source: Van Dongen – Koschuch Architects and Planners

Delft, city of innovation in the Netherlands

The entire world knows Delft from Delft Blue pottery and the painter Johannes Vermeer. But there is more to Delft. Delft is a city of innovation and pioneers. Making the impossible possible is in the DNA of Delft. It has been for centuries, from the first beer brewers who innovated with water management in the 14th century. A couple of centuries later, Hugo de Groot created modern international public law and Antoni Van Leeuwenhoek invented the microscope. And recently, Boyan Slat, a student at the Delft University of Technology, surprised the world with the Ocean Cleanup, a solution for ridding the oceans of the ‘plastic soup’.

ICE Kraków Congress Centre is a modern, world-class venue dedicated to culture – music, opera, ballet, theatre – and congresses. Designed at the highest standards of acoustics and mechanics. Besides the three main halls with 1915, 600, and 300 seats, the shell holds a multifunctional conference space of 550m2. Hiding a multi-story foyer open to a panorama of Kraków, the Vistula embankment façade is spectacularly transparent. The outer shell combines glass, ceramics, and aluminium, with colours ceramic tiles reflecting those of the interior: red of the Auditorium Hall, graphite of Theatre Hall, white of the foyer, and the silvery aluminum used for the roof.
