Refined, evocative and emblematic; these are the adjectives to summarize the latest project signed by the Puccio Collodoro Architetti studio.
Placed inside an important historic building from the early 1900s, the Gran Caffè Torino is located near the central station of Palermo, at the corner of Via Roma and Via Torino, from which it takes its name.
The project is located at the corner of the old street of Tongji Road, Foshan，Hidden in the lush trees. Under this kind of restriction, How to keep the mottled traces of the building, Combining the spatial diversity of functional planning, Give it a unique soul and color, It’s a challenge for designers.
Our proposal was concerned with the renovation and refurbishment of an existing building that hosted an old taverna and was revamped as a bakery and coffee shop. It is a ground floor building constructed before 1955. Its positioned along the National Highway between Argos & Nafplio and as a result its use and the architectural design is predetermined by the constant flow of people and goods in this busy road. The existing building consisted of adobe walls and a timber roof with byzantine tiles as covers.
McIntosh Poris Associates designed the new location for Townhouse, on the ground level of Ally Detroit Center in downtown Detroit’s Financial District, incorporating the urban landscape with a touch of sophistication. The ground‐floor restaurant covers 7,484 square feet and features multiple experiences: a U‐shaped bar, a custom‐designed steel‐and‐glass atrium structure with operable roof and walls, a cozy whiskey lounge, and an outdoor patio enclosed by verdant planters. Interior spaces feature luxurious textures, including distressed leathers and rich woods, along with playful wall graphics for a distinctive environment. Color schemes of white, red, and black were used throughout for a cohesive brand identity.
Famous Saudi coffee roasters Elixir Bunn opened their new location in Riyadh, designed by Azaz Architects. After building a strong reputation for their coffee, it was time to build an atmosphere to complement their famous drinks. Coffee in Saudi Arabia is well-rooted into the local culture and could be traced back to times prior to the formation of the Kingdom. Since then, coffee in the region has evolved, and today, the coffee industry in Saudi Arabia is flourishing. To match that progression, Azaz Architects created the space as a “Deco Temple” to take coffee seekers into a modern day spiritual-like experience.
The project included the revalorization and adaptation of the former hairdresser (and originally waiting rooms for the tram and kiosks with milk and newspapers) in the historic residential building No. 1 (Laubenganghaus No. 1) in the area of the WuWA (Wohnungs- und Werkraum Ausstellung) residential exhibition from 1929. The gallery house, to which the object adjoins, was designed by Paul Heim and Albert Kempter.
K5 Tokyo, housed in a converted 1920s bank building, sits beside the Tokyo Stock Exchange and connects the traditional Imperial Palace area with hip Eastern Tokyo.
The Japanese word ‘Aimai’ guides K5 Tokyo’s concept. It means vague, obscure or ambiguous, which in Japanese is often used in a positive, poetic sense. (The term denotes the benefits of erasing borders.) K5 Tokyo’s functions intentionally intermingle: The library is the bar, while the coffee shop doubles as a lounge, which flows into a wine bar and restaurant.
Rush and reflection are the two contradictory vital elements on which Namelok has based the entire design of the museum cafe in the Anne Frank House. Of course, we were inspired by the place’s history: especially the post-war period in which the desire for rapid improvement was in contrast to the pure fellowship. This paradox has not only functioned as our core design concept, but also in facilitating the visitors of the Anne Frank House.
Café la loop 86 is a multi-functional space situated within shanghai‘s shipyard 1862 building. the concept behind the design focuses on creating a flexible and open interior that serves also as a gallery. Characterized by a pared-back material palette and bare walls, the project has been formed to provide the perfect backdrop for exhibitions.
The program of the scheme comprises of a closed off office and storage room to the back corner, with the rest of the interior designed by the architect to be semi-open. Within this open space, a partition in the center subtly separates a meeting and gallery space. The remaining area consists of the café, which is articulated by a large white bar, becoming the focal point of the interior.
Density has always been a strong characteristic in the design problematic of Hanoi, historically horizontal condensation has been the phenomena and more recently a new vertical layer of construction has come to intensify the development of the capital. Contrasting the habitual trend of compacting built density, the Organic Café plays with architectural distinctions to propose a resilient microcosm within the urban context.
