Schenker Salvi Weber and feld72 shape the new corporate headquarters of Post AG on Vienna’s Rochusmarkt. The building ensemble is a composition of the highest quality which not only skilfully combines old and new but also features contemporary interior architecture which is distinguished by the open communication areas in the offices and the design of the mall. Sunday, May 6th, 2018

Article source: Norm Architects

The Kinfolk Gallery and office space has been created in close dialogue with Nathan Willams and Jessica Gray from Kinfolk. This is how we work with all our clients. We try to combine our universe with theirs.

Much like human well-being, the essence of our work is found in balance— between richness and restraint, between order and complexity. Our vision is to look beyond sight. We want to create spaces that feel good in every way.

This has been achieved by adding a new elevation to the building both substantial and sufficiently light to bring life into what is now a garden‐like inner court.

BMLZ Villa Office in Tongzhou District, China by Tsutsumi and Associates

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018

Article source: Tsutsumi and Associates

This is a building complex for an architectural material company that mainly deals with import carpet and domestic acoustic absorption material. We renovate and expand the existing building which has basement floor and 3 floors above the ground. Because of the difference of ground level, basement floor has open space on its south side, but on its north side it can’t get daylight. We need to carefully design the expanded volume so as not to block the daylight into the existing space. We studied a lot of models, like hollow volumes around central court or several separated volumes, and finally decided upon a simple box. In consequence, on the one hand its volume is just a simple box with a lot of randomly openings on its walls and roof, on the other hand the 4 scattered small courts make the plan complex. Because the openings of the small courts are restrained so that we feel it “inside”, but inside we can see trees and receive enough daylight from toplights so we feel it “outside”, of course the existing area also receive enough daylight. That is to say, the inside and outside are reversed, or those are merged.

As part of his encyclopedic collection of American industry and ingenuity, Henry Ford transported this machine shop from New England to this site within the Liberty Craftworks at Greenfield Village, where it houses the museum’s glass gallery. JCDA’s renewal of the building articulates the site, connecting the gallery entrance to the hot shop by rotating the vestibule to face it.

Writing-scape – Museum of World Writing in Incheon, South Korea by TheeAe Architecture and Interior Ltd.

Tuesday, December 5th, 2017

Article source: TheeAe Architecture and Interior Ltd.

“Writing is a medium of human communication that represents language and emotion with signs and symbols. In most languages, writing is a complement to speech or spoken language. Writing is not a language, but a tool developed by human society.” It is a great task to trace back cultural heritages through studying and developing forms and styles from various ethnic backgrounds of each different writings and writing systems. In this sense and immediate understanding on the matter, we are overwhelmed by the fact the expression on the museum of world writing can be too vast and tremendous. Hence, creating the architectural form for the Museum of World Writing will be very much rewarding historical event, if we, as architects, can express into a form of conglomeration that brings the sense and beauty of the world writings.
