GARDENS OF THE DEADLY SINS in Chaumont-sur-Loire, France by NAS Architecture

Friday, August 22nd, 2014

Article source: NAS Architecture

Based on the thematic “gardens of the deadly sins”, Bloom creates an abstract and fairy space between profusion and reserve. Exploiting contrasts of colors and volumes, a large slender table comes to encircle the object of all the desires, the garden. This furniture invites the passers to contemplate the vegetable feast all while preventing the access there, manufacturing a mixture of amazement and desire. To support this duality, Bloom exploits the disparities.

Friday, June 6th, 2014

Article source: Michael Jantzen

Circular Formations are a series of three functional art sculptures designed to be placed into a public venue such as a park and/or sculpture garden. Each one of the structures is made of painted steel and wood. All of them are primarily formed from the assemblage of eight-foot diameter circular rings. Some of the rings have been cut into portions of a circle, and others are assembled into the formations as full circles.

Contemporary Japanese Garden in London, U.K by MyLandscapes LTD

Wednesday, April 9th, 2014

Article source: MyLandscapes LTD

The 250sqm site runs east to west and is surrounded by two buildings, a perimeter wall and open on the western side. Initially the ground was pretty level and laid to paving blocks, allowing access to the buildings but serving not much purpose and fairly static. The project took 3 months to build during the wettest winter in the British Isles at a cost of £140,000.

Article source: BRENDAN CALLANDER

This garden shed was designed and constructed in partnership between UBC architecture students and the Woodlands Community Garden Club. This structure is the focal point of the garden.

It acts as a gathering spot for local education programs and provides a practical storage solution. The unique form of the shed was designed to prevent shadows from being cast on surrounding garden plots while at the same time shading the central meeting space.

Greenhouse Botanical Garden in Grueningen, Switzerland by idA

Sunday, November 10th, 2013

Article source: idA

The new pavilion at the botanical garden at Grueningen relates strongly to its context. The design was inspired by the surrounding forest, not the built environment. Both the formal vocabulary and the structural concept derive from nature. The pavilion is conceived to harmonize with and expand the forest.
