HOTEL CASA DE UCO in Tunuyán, Argentina by Arq. Alberto Tonconogy

Tuesday, October 6th, 2015

Article source: Arq. Alberto Tonconogy

From the beginning, the Master Plan of this property was conceived in various phases of development: hotel, bungalows, villas and winery.

It’s difficult to achieve this organic process when embarking on nature and environmental projects.

In any complex project, resolving unknown issues can lead to even superior results.

WELCOME HOTEL in Jodhpur, India by Malik Architecture

Friday, October 2nd, 2015

Article source: MALIK Architecture

Mansingh resort has been conceptualized as an Oasis that alleviates the visitor from the parched, harsh landscape. It rises from the sand dunes as a beacon to tourists much in the same way as Oases were to wandering travelers of the past. Like an Oasis the landscape is very integral to the design. The site spreads out like a series of pavilions around landscaped courts. The project has a number of local points of interest in the vicinity like Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, and Jaswant Thada. The city is known as the Sun City for the bright, sunny weather it enjoys all year. It is also referred to as the Blue City due to the blue tinge of the whitewashed houses around the Mehrangarh Fort.

Botel in Amsterdam, Netherlands by MMX architecten + Jord den Hollander

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015

Article source: MMX architecten

“How can you improve the look of the hotelboat, in order to make it fit in with the dynamics and creativity of the NDSM wharf, in the north of Amsterdam?”

This was the question that Botel-owner Sandra Chedi put to MMX-architecten (Arjan van Ruyven & Michiel van Pelt) in 2011. Together with filmmaker and architect Jord den Hollander they developed a bold plan. Five 6.5 -meter-high hotelrooms in the shape of huge toy letters make up the silhouette B O T E L on top of the ship. The white hotel boat has been given a cheerful crown, referring to the chimneys of the ocean liners that used to come off the now derelict NDSM slipways.

PROTOTYPE CENTER OF ALTERNATIVE ALPINE TOURISM in Metsovo, Greece by FParchitect

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015

Article source: FParchitect

The Prototype Center of Alternative Alpine Tourism, located in Lake Springs Aoou Metsovo, is designed to give a boost and a new market in tourism, both as regards quality of services provided, and the variety of options. It is a center that can meet and reconcile the needs for recreation and relaxation (hotel unit – bungalow, restaurant, pool building) with the sport (sports center, boats port) and culture (convention center). These uses and the way their organization, make the band a unit that can operate autonomously, as is 20 km from the town of Metsovo. The composition blends with the natural environment, which is particularly beautiful, and topography, not by challenging existing habitats (forest, lake). For this reason, are been used principles and technologies of energy and bioclimatic design such as green roofs, the use of photovoltaic (main roof, blinds) and geothermal energy. Finally, the extensive use of materials such as wood, stone and glass contribute to reconciliation between the Centre and its environment.

Sunday, September 6th, 2015

Article source: Divercity & Mplusm

This 20-room hotel (a joint project between Divercity and Mplusm) is carved into the cliff-face 300m above Santorini’s volcanic caldera. The understated design allows this extraordinary landscape to take centre stage. The hotel provides a contemporary interpretation of vernacular architecture: economy of space, radical simplicity, and organic forms.

‘Baumgeflüster’ Treehouse Hotel in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany by baumraum

Tuesday, September 1st, 2015

Article source: baumraum

Stately trees, a beautiful landscape, a good selection of leisure activities, and, if possible, a pre-existing infrastructure – a site that offers all these things is a good candidate for hosting a treehouse hotel. Add a realistic chance of obtaining a building permit, and the auspices for success are very good indeed.
