16 SOCIAL HOUSING UNITS in Charleville-Mézières, France by a/LTA architectes urbanistes

Thursday, January 22nd, 2015

Article source: a/LTA architectes urbanistes

We work on a firmly contemporary, contextual and reactive architecture. Each of our architectural answers are heading towards an originality specific to the project, complying with the program and the project’s surroundings On every proposal, we specifically work on the context. We are particularly interested in closed, distant, historical and sociological background of the project. These datas «are nourishing» architecture. As the contexts in which we evolve are rarely homogeneous, our writing tends to be hybrid.

Passive House Che in SUCEAVA, ROMANIA by Tecto Arhitectura

Wednesday, January 21st, 2015

Article source: Tecto Arhitectura

The challenge was to create a simple, sustainable, two-storey unit that would fit into a special site: a mature forest inside  a northern romanian city. Form and Building orientation are designed in order to maximise the use of natural daylight and south orientation. To achieve this, the chosen specific site for implementing the volume was on the upper part of the property, gently blending on the slope of the terrain, with great views over the entire forest and the horizon landscape.

Tuesday, January 20th, 2015

Article source: Ian Hsü, Gabriel Rudolphy (HSU·RUDOLPHY Studio)

Aim

The project was to build a 155 m2 house in a very limited time frame, and with a reduced budget. In response we decided to use an efficient construction system and a simplified palette of finishes.

We designed a structure completely based on SIP panels (structural insulated panels), supported on a grid of foundations that intervene minimally in the existing terrain.

García housing is designed from two main white stone volumes that fly over another one.
Access to housing is produced by the ground floor through a double height lobby. In front of the lobby there is a glazing courtyard with a garden inside, that allows you to see the outside swimming pool. This courtyard is the element that separate the double height living-room and the dining room. At the left side of the lobby there is a wood stair with flown steps and it is accompanied of a interior garden fully lighted through the skylight. This garden confers a degree of humidity allowing greater comfort inside.
