Katka and Honza are cooking all the time. So they decided to burn their new house as well. But not from ground to top.Just only all around. Their boys are wondering around with hands full of coal looking forward for winter and making snowman. Hopefully there are some coal buttons left for snowman coat. Katka is harvesting carrots for his nose. Just tomcat with dog are sharing doghouse together. Spending long evenings trying to wake up memories for lovely and warmy flat in Prague.

House in Ávila, Spain by Claudia Olalla Gil

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015

Article source: Claudia Olalla Gil

Located at a high altitude (1200 meters above sea level), Las Navas del Marqués is characterized by cold winters and mild summers, which determine a low annual average temperature (10 ° C).

Taking advantage of the views of the valley of San Miguel coincident with the best orientation (south west), the house opens into the views and closes as much as possible to the north, avoiding energy losses.

SOMMARHUS AKENINE in Trelleborg, Sweden by Johan Sundberg

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015

Article source: Johan Sundberg

Johan Sundberg Arkitektur’s latest work is an ample, yet succinct summerhouse on Sweden’s southernmost coast. Positioned with care in the forest by the popular Beddinge Strand, the plot is situated on an embankment that formerly demarcated the coast, but has since been engulfed by the surrounding woods. The area’s languid and balmy summers are counterbalanced in winter by brisk sea winds and salty air. The building opens to the Baltic Sea in the south, while the northern side faces the forest.

It doesn’t place at all yet, so I can imagine many things.

When I saw the landscape, I couldn’t say anything. It was amazing. I felt like part of landscape…. I thought that the place would create grate harmony with architecture.

“The vertical pillar extends to the far heavens.
The horizontal beam extends to somewhere unknown.
People dwell where the vertical and the horizontal intersect,
awed by trees, fearing beasts and groping for their coordinates.”
