Design and construction of a house near Chrudim, east Bohemia. House is located on the very edge of the protected landscape area, which directly define the classical form of the house with a gable roof and also defined the selection of natural materials for cladding the house. The house has a swimming pool with roof cleaning system and garden house.
Located in the Serra de Grandola, the plot is characterized by cork oaks and pines forest that dominates the accentuated slope of the landscape on a promontory facing west.
The settlement of the new construction is strictly related to the topography and the surrounding landscape. The compact shape that characterizes the house, aims to limit human intervention in the uncontaminated area. The spaces are organized in a single floor around a square patio that through transparent surfaces and lodges opens to the landscape.
The Caramão neighborhood in Lisbon, was built between 1940 and 1945 on the slope of Ajuda facing the Tagus and above the Restelo neighborhood.
Along with other social housing in Lisbon, such as Caselas, this neighborhood was designed to represent small villages that provided, in the style of adjustment, a similar type of life of the more humble part of society, to which they were accustomed to and also occupied at the date of its construction.
[Modeling in the air] project is a house reconstruction plan that interconnected with a pediatrics clinics that owned by a client from Fukuoka city , Fukuoka Prefecture.
Looking at the environment of the site, on the east side the main road is flanked by a lush green park, on the north there is an existing pediatric clinic owned by the client, on the southside and westside there are adjacent housing and mansion. With three sides of the sites facing and surrounded by other existing structure it is not an ideal condition to make an opening.
The project is located in Ponferrada´s City Hall Square, next to the base of the Clock Tower, in one of the 5 gateways to the walled medieval city. This stretch of the wall remains intact due to its shared joint ownership with the cloistered convent of the Conceptionist, which has allowed its preservation until today.
The building corresponds to the traditional construction of XVIII Century houses in El Bierzo: rectangular, formed by volumes attached, with facade shield, courtyard, stratifying its uses by heights. The upper floor is devoted to housing, with a noble area in the square and another craft workshop in the courtyard. The ground floor housed commercial activities.
Twenty-one plateaus and seven volumes tell the story of this house.
The aim of the project is to give a new and even identity to a house belonging to the same family for several generations. The original house formed by the aggregation of different interventions at different times, with different construction systems. Each of the rooms in the house describes a moment in life of this family story. Thus it was essential to maintain the structure, spaces, uses, garden and memories, presenting them in a new way.
The Project consists on a set of semi-detached houses located on the edge of the city of Barcelona, bordering Collserola’s natural area.
Three challenges backbone the proposal on the one hand the need for a formal dialogue with an existing house, on the other its integration with the surrounding green space and finally the possibility of incorporating passive and active systems that advance the building`s commitment to environmental sustainability.
The project sits on the hills of Utive in eastern Panama.
The basic dwelling was designed for a young couple in need of a retreat from the crowded city of Panama. We focused our efforts on creating ways of taking the most advantage of the site’s scenic potential and natural conditions. Such explorations defined the building envelope and the main section of the roof, where natural conditions impose their presence. The three sections of the façade describe the three basic functions that occur inside—living, eating and sleeping, with this last section been slightly twisted on the horizontal plane, so private functions can be isolated from the public areas. The distortion of a pure volume also suggests certain circumstances such as the direction of the contour lines and the presence of some trees.
