Tuesday, July 4th, 2017

Article source: PERSIMMON HILLS architects

This project involved redesigning one dwelling unit of condominium in Osaka, Japan.

Requests from clients were “widely and brightly expansive space” and “amount of storage that is twice as large as general house”, when we started design. Although these are at first somewhat contradictory, requests that everyone wants. For responding such requests in limited occupied area and ceiling height of building skeleton, we focused to three elements usually working behind the space.

Maison sur le Lac in Magog, Canada by ACDF Architecture

Sunday, July 2nd, 2017

Article source: v2com

Located on the shores of Lake Memphremagog in the Eastern Townships, the House Lachance is a secondary residence designed for two clients who are native to the region, and currently oscillate between Montreal and Magog. Rapidly, the two clients who love music, nature and the land expressed their desire for a home with an open living area, where gastronomy and good dishes are prepared in direct relation to nature and the lake. At the heart of the space thus settle the three strong and unifying elements of the project: the kitchen, the dining table and the piano.

Article source: Veech X Veech

The core idea of the multifunctional house is to create an exhibition and living space with an extensive sculpture garden at the edge of a far-reaching valley. The artist-couple’s striking, large-scale works harmonise with the surrounding landscape, the studio with its view over the plain and access to daylight a constant motivation to create further artistic works.

Diagonal House in La Jolla, California by Safdie Rabines Architects

Wednesday, June 28th, 2017

Article source: Safdie Rabines Architects

Located on a steep hillside in La Jolla, this custom home floats above its site, carefully stepping down the slope to create large outdoor terraces while maximizing the home’s ocean views. The upper level consolidates the primary living spaces and master bedroom to one floor, with floor-to-ceiling glass and large skylights creating a light-filled penthouse suite. An angled glass wall divides the simple rectangular floor plate to create an invisible line between indoor and outdoor spaces, and a retractable wall creates the feeling of an open air pavilion with unobstructed views that extend for miles.

Casa abierta is a Project for a couple of my dearest friends.

A small piece of land in one of the most exclusive developments in the city was the perfect excuse to put on practice what the project represents itself: unfold the barrier between the outdoor and the indoor space.

Proa House in Huelva, Spain by GÓmez & GOrshkova I Arquitectura y diseño

Wednesday, June 28th, 2017

Article source: GÓmez & GOrshkova I Arquitectura y diseño

This recreational house is built on an old majada, as stone sheds are known in the Sierra de Aracena, auxiliary buildings that serve as pantry, chicken coop or for storing implements. It is for this reason that they are usually located on the edge of villages, closer to the rich orchards, like those bordering Cortelazor. The building we found here was a soon to be ruin that had fallen into disuse long ago.

Stajnhaus in Mikulov, Czech Republic by ORA

Wednesday, June 28th, 2017

Article source: ORA

The ŠTAJNHAUS has not been a project, the ŠTAJNHAUS has been a process. This house with a Renaissance core stands right at the foot of the chateau hill, in the former Jewish quarter of Mikulov (a. k. a. Nikolsburg). Throughout its existence it has suffered a great many scars, it has gone through tens of reconstructions and operations. All of these have altered the house beyond recognition. Yet it has maintained its almost medieval picturesqueness.
