MaisonA is nestled on the side of the hill on the plot. The building is discreet, but its pure lines show great strength of character. The materials used are contemporary, but the whole fits in perfectly with the protected site. The main materials PietriArchitectes used a wood and white concrete.
MaisonA, it is a simple volume built in integrally coloured concrete, with wooden shutters, set over a base anchored in the hillside.
We can place this ground between countryside and city.

Designed originally for construction workers of the railroad connecting Montreux to the Rochers-de-Naye, this modest house was built in 1911 with large stone blocks found in the ground dug for the rail. Constructed on a sloping hillside, lined with a terraced garden, it offers a breathtaking view of the Alps, Lake Geneva and the Riviera.

The high demand for student housing is the reason for the initiation of this new development on the edge of Bielefeld’s city centre. It was only in 2009 that a new land use plan was approved for this area, prescribing two-story detached houses with sloping roofs for this location on a narrow building plot. Following on from this, the draft provides for the establishment of four detached houses, each with two floors and a stacked storey.

In Velp, the Netherlands, a sustainable refurbishment and extension of a dilapidated 1950s villa has been completed.
The villa is situated on the edge of National Park Veluwezoom, a nature reserve. The many small rooms of the original house have been reduced to a small number of light and spacious spaces and a concrete extension with patio was added to the house. Although the various living spaces are in open connection with each other, the separate rooms retain their own intimate atmosphere.

This holiday home, of a Mediterranean character, was built half a century ago using traditional Catalan construction methods. It has been refurbished and modernised internally to increase natural light. The kitchen and porch have been extended to create a courtyard to connect the interior living areas with the outdoor. This offers shade and the addition of a pool completes the integration of these areas.

This small house in a residential district in eastern Tokyo is home to a couple and their young children. The dark grey galvalume cladding blends gently into the surrounding environment, as if it has been there for many years. Because the lot sits across the street from an elementary school, the clients requested a design that ensured privacy yet was as open as possible.

The small house stands on a large meadow, near the lake, hidden among the woods. Inside of 25 square meters (270 sqft) we got a living room with functional kitchen, bedroom with bunk beds built in, and the small bathroom. Outside there there is 30 square meters (323 sqft) of the covered porch, which perfectly fulfills the role of the dining room. The house is totally built of larch wood.

In order to continue exploring the interlude between Architecture and woodcraft – In which the Architect builds his own work, I arranged this 40 m2 studio. An opportunity to study / test within this space that would become my Home | Office and set up a laboratory of Architecture, where I could try out both space organization and execution solutions in detail. The hypothesis of resolving the adjustments, reconsidering badly anticipated decisions, imperfections as a carpenter does with his pieces, with the balance of who projected to solve the inherent deviations of the construction processes, here in a scale of Architecture, a kind of revivalism of the Arts and Crafts movement… To inhabit it, al- lows me to perceive its result.
