The concrete cube house in Koziegłowy, Poland by TEŻ ARCHITEKCI

Wednesday, January 25th, 2017

Article source: TEŻ ARCHITEKCI

The house was built in the seventies of the XX century in Koziegłowy (Poland) as a typical representation of the so called “modernistic cube”. The main characteristic of this kind of buildings was the almost square basis and 2 floors (one being high ground floor with basement underneath). The owners wanted to remodel the building with the emphasis on raw materials, natural light and harmony between the inside and the outside of the house. The aim was to create more functional space yet with less storage room.

Villa Lima in Höllviken, Sweden by Johan Sundberg arkitektur

Wednesday, January 25th, 2017

Article source: Johan Sundberg arkitektur

Höllviken south of Malmö is originally a seaside summer resort. A young couple wanted to build a house on a traditional summer house lot that had to be very modern, and at the same time suitable for a flexible family life.

The most economical solution considering the planning regulations of the area is the traditional 1,5- story house most common in the south of Sweden. This strategy would also enable us to save some of the trees and vegetation on the site.

STONE HOUSE BY THE SEA in Sardinia by Parisotto+Fomenton Architetti

Wednesday, January 25th, 2017

Article source: Parisotto+Fomenton Architetti

The house is located on the east coast of Sardinia, facing the islands of Tavolara and Molara.

The main objective of the projects (both the renovation of the existing part and the building of the new wing of a holiday house for a family) above all was to set a dialogue with the natural context, so peculiar and to remove everything that did not belong to the place. We, as architects, wanted to take the best out of traditional materials in a very contemporary way which is our recognizable mark.
