RSC House in Porto Feliz, Brazil by Jacobsen Arquitetura

Tuesday, March 21st, 2017

Article source: Jacobsen Arquitetura

The topographic model was imperative to address the implementation of this house.  The access is at the highest level of the plot and from there a slight slope happens facing  the best view and better heat stroke.

Three longilineal blocks were created and arranged in the model. The first contained the  land to create a large master plan. The second block is parallel and facing a lake view.

Osler House in Brasília, Brazil by studio mk27

Saturday, March 18th, 2017

Article source: studio mk27

The site of the Osler House lies at the edge of Brasilia’s pilot plan, at the tip of one of Paranoá Lake estuaries.   The house is a poetic commentary on modern architecture, above all on Brazilian modernism, starting from a contemporary re-reading of the building materials and techniques.

Weekend refuge for the mother, her two married sons, her daughter-in-law and her grandchildren. Itis located in a condominium with big sites, surrounded by an ecological reserve.

Cima House in Chihuahua, Mexico by Garza Iga Arquitectos

Saturday, March 18th, 2017

Article source: Garza Iga Arquitectos

Sustainable and smart; this house is one of opposites; breaching the gap between last century’s construction methods and next century’s technology and ideology.

Built with concrete, steel I beams, and wood; it resembles the classic architecture styles of Louis Kahn and Mies Van der Rohe but at the same time it incorporates a range of technological systems not available in their time. Water collection, treatment and reuse, and solar power technology are only some of those mentioned systems.

Three Gardens House in Al Funaitees, Kuwait by AGi architects

Saturday, March 18th, 2017

Article source: AGi architects

It all started with a question:

Are you able to design an outside space that can be used 365 days a year?

For moderate climates such as the Spanish it seems quite simple, but in the case of an extreme weather like that of Kuwait it was necessary to think about new strategies. So we asked the client:

Could you live in an outer space located at different levels?

Could you classify your outdoor activities in evening and daytime actions, summer and winter events?

These enquiries may be very difficult to answer for a Mediterranean family, but definitely not for those who are used to living in adverse weather conditions and who easily know what can -and cannot- be done during the summer outdoors.
