Lake Jasper House in Chertsey, Canada by Architecturama

Tuesday, February 16th, 2016

Article source: Architecturama

Whether visiting alone, with a large group of guests or as a family, the owners were looking for a relaxed, welcoming environment, conceptually similar to a cottage yet more refined, particularly in the relationships among spaces and between people. The goal was to have a present, living and enthusiastic architecture that engages the senses.

The design process, grounded in the setting, symbiosis with the site and a reduced environmental footprint, led to a reflection process on the functional elements and their optimization.

GOLF HOUSE in Buenos Aires, Argentina by Luciano Kruk arquitectos

Sunday, February 14th, 2016

Article source: Luciano Kruk arquitectos

Golf House is geographically located at the center of Costa Esmeralda, a neighborhood 13 km north of the seaside resort of Pinamar.

Topographically lying on highest area of the neighborhood, both the front and the back of the plot of land adjoin a golf court that, along with the —mainly wild— native vegetation, compose its immediate surroundings. Originally, the plot of land was circumscribed by a virgin dune, the slope of which grew in height away from the street, and that the Studio proposed to preserve.

Article source: Nash Baker Architects

The Old Hall in Suffolk is a complex restoration project by Nash Baker Architects involving a 16th Century oak-framed hall house with many later alterations and additions. Originally constructed in the 16th Century for a local merchant, this historic hall house was converted into several cottages around 1800. Unsympathetic alterations and extension during the 1960’s and 1970’s have been reversed or remodeled to re-unite the building as a single house.
