Flat land to build a house is located in Olomouc-Slavonín. Access to the site is from the east side, where it is also connected by new driveway. The surrounding lands were until recently used as private gardens. Due to construction of a new access road (including utilities) in place of the existing dirt road, housing development in the area started.

Cosmos Intime in Gwangju, Korea by L’EAU Design

Tuesday, January 5th, 2016

Article source: L’EAU Design

Our ancestors house, which was built on flattened ground and had shape of ¤± or ¤§, was like a small confidential space for one¡¯s family that was based on Confucian philosophy such as geomancy and ethical relationship between husband and wife. Modern city, on the other hand, is reclaiming land from the sea, destroying the nature that had been preserved for centuries and mechanically producing artificial grounds in order to expend a fertile land for human life.

Architects: PUZZLE’S architecture

Existing Situation

The house of the family, built in 1730, is located in the valley of Lustin (Belgium) at the border of a dead end street, next to a huge forest. The plot, an area of 3600 meters square, is strongly undulated. On one side of the land you have the house, and on the other side the forest. Between them, flows a river. The landscape is full of vegetation and is highlighted by grass, trees, an orchard, a vegetable garden and an apiary.

Pool House RF in Graz, Austria by Innauer‐Matt Architekten

Article source: Innauer‐Matt Architekten

While developing this building two parameters had to be considered. The slanting of the sloped site with its exposed position on the one side, on the other side the organization of the entire living area on only one floor.

BLS HOUSE in Ílhavo, Portugal by M2.senos

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015

Article source: M2.senos

The allotment is in the center of a small seaside town with a fuzzy site between rural and urban landscape, where we can see a consolidated area mixed with expectant land or agricultural fields. The relationship of the building with the street is also peculiar, either by the diagonal set, but also by the excessive depth of field. It is the lowest part that makes the connection with the public space. With these assumptions, we tried to draw a very plastic object, which begins at the edge of the allotment extending itself as much as possible to the inside face.

Lafayette Custom Mid-Century Modern Remodel in California by Klopf Architecture

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015

Article source: Klopf Architecture

The owners of this property had been away from the Bay Area for many years, and looked forward to returning to an elegant mid-century modern house. The one they bought was anything but that. Faced with a “remuddled” kitchen from one decade, a haphazard bedroom / family room addition from another, and an otherwise disjointed and generally run-down mid-century modern house, the owners asked Klopf Architecture and Envision Landscape Studio to re-imagine this house and property as a unified, flowing, sophisticated, warm, modern indoor / outdoor living space for a family of five.

Article source: 2gv sensibilidad patrimonial

The house, given the geometry of the plot and programmatic needs arising from the property, is designed as a triangle that covers almost the buildable area and replicates the shape of the edge of the plot , appropriating by extension and projection of the total plot. Over this , one recessed floor contains the evening program.

The key element around which this project is developed is a century-old holm oak which existed on the site. The home’s necessary spaces are arranged around the tree and a courtyard, where the floor plan’s axes convergeforming a Latin cross. The public rooms are arranged in such a way thatone perceives the holm oak’s presence from any point.
